Any Thoughts on The "ErgoTune Supreme V3" Office Chair?

Dear my kind & savvy fellow Ozbargainers,
Can anyone share your experience with the ErgoTune Supreme V3 office chair?
Experteasy rates it the best office chair in Australia. Link is below:
https://www.experteasy.com.au/blog/best-ergonomic-office-cha…

An early Black Friday sale is on now, which brings the price down to $600 from $750.
My back and neck are killing me after years of using poor desks & chairs.
Yet, I'm still on the fence. Can hardly imagine forking out 600 bucks for a bloody chair.

Please nudge me in the right direction.
Thanks a ton!

Regards,
Ted

My experience is never to buy a chair without first trying it, especially when you are paying so much for it…

Honestly you should really go out and try some if you haven't already. Office chairs are just about the most subjective purchase you can make, and $600 is a lot to drop if you're unsure.

    • Hi @johnno07,
Thank you very much for putting some sense back to my brain.
Loads of back, shoulder and neck pain prevented me from thinking straight.

      • No worries at all! Would love to hear what you eventually decide on :)

If you are having lots of that sort of pain it could be more than just your chair. It could be the way you're sitting/the height of your desk etc etc. Heck, it might even be your bed.

        • Thanks @johnno07!
          I'm seeing a chiropractor now.
Gonna off myself if this pain continues any longer. Haha.

Looks really good. I’m following this thread as I need to buy one. My Krost chair started making noise.

    • Hi @justanick,
I've read many reviews for this chair (both on website and Youtube). All are raving.
      The headrest is especially good.
And there are 11 different points of adjustment, which I rate highly.
The chair is available in three different sizes, depending on your height.

It's true that I haven't got a chance to try it out since the company selling it is based in Sydney and I'm in Melbourne.
But I'm actually thinking of pulling the trigger.
      Will keep you updated.

      • Awesome. I’m in Sydney. Could you please give me the link to the store and how you are buying it online I would like to try it out and buy?
The only issue I have is I want a cushion not sit on mesh.

          Hi @justanick,
I strongly recommend that you check out the review by Experteasy which I shared in my original post.
          Here it is again:
          https://www.experteasy.com.au/blog/best-ergonomic-office-cha…

You can either buy the chair from Amazon (no discount atm though) or from the seller directly ($150 off for early Black Friday).
          https://au.northday.com/
I believe this chair is from Singapore originally.

Their address in Sydney is: 383 George Street Sydney NSW 2000.
Not sure if it's the showroom or only the warehouse though.
          Good luck!

  • Was just looking at the chair. Amazon only has decently few reviews so had a look at product reviews and there were a few quite scathing ones, both about never (or at least not in any semi-timely manner) receiving the chair despite having paid, and the product itself not being great. https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/ergotune-supreme-o…

. Probably enough concerns there to put me off this chair. But does anyone have any other strong suggestions for chairs, ideally with mesh back and mesh seat, that are great bang for the buck (or maybe more appropriately bang for the back)?

      Hi @vm1v07,
I'm the OP. I finally pulled the trigger, buying via their official website (northday), which offers a greater discount than Amazon.
I had no problem with delivery.
Placed the order on 11 Nov and the chair arrived on 15.

I'm very happy with my purchase. The chair has 11 different adjustments to suit your personal preferences.
The lumbar support and the head rest are particularly great.
All parts are made in South Korea.
Those who are after a foam seat may be put off by the mesh seat though. I have no strong opinion here.

This chair was rated the best by experteasy:

Having said that, as @johnno07 has enlightened me, buying an office chair is one of the most subjective purchases ever. It all depends on what you like.
I hope you'll find the perfect chair soon.

  • I bought this last year in the black Friday sales for around ~$550. Super happy with it! It has so many customisation options for your body shape, I'd be more than surprised if you couldn't make it comfy for you. I'm a tall dude and it fits me perfectly. Assembly was easy, took about an hour (although I think getting the box up the stairs was the toughest part) and came with everything you need in the box.

When putting it together theres two options, one for those 180cm tall and under and one for longer then 180cm. The only difference is how far forward/back the seat is. As I am ~195cm I went with the long boy option for about 3 months before changing it back to the normal person size. It was comfy both ways, but the normal way allowed my ass to sink into the chair better lol.

The only complaint is the headrest can't be set into place. So whenever anyone goes to move the chair they always grab the headrest to move it, and it quickly falls to the bottom with a rampage of clicking noises. Pretty minor but does get annoying. Defs worth the money, I'm super happy with the purchase 1 year on tbh

hey bro. I wonder how the mesh quality is after one year? I am curious since I read that people sink into the mesh after a year. I am a very light weight guy like 60 avg to 65kg max height 165 and i want to invest in this desk but i am a bit nervous about the mesh quality? thanks

      • Mesh quality is excellent in terms of the mesh robustness itself. I've owned two mesh chairs previously from Officeworks and both of their mesh material fell apart within 2 years with obvious damage/fraying/splitting happening from 9 months in. None of that here, and I use this thing every day.

In regards to the sagging, this has not been an issue for me and I can't see it being a problem, especially if you are on the lighter side. If you're above 120kg I could see this not keeping it's form long term. But in saying that my partner sits on me when gaming sometimes and combined we'd be around 130kgs and there has been no noticeable sinking/relaxing on the seat mesh.

If it's still a concern just make sure you go for the <180cm setup so that your bum is right in the centre of the seat. Of all the things the mesh quality and longevity has never been a concern. Things moving slightly when you don't want them too is a much bigger "issue" and it's not really even and issue (like headrest zooming to the bottom when a shirt is thrown on it or if someone tried to move the chair by the headrest god forbid. Also sometimes the arm rests move/click once when getting up if you put pressure on them to get out of the chair. Again tho, minor shit that isn't really that bad)

  • Do you know what the 3 sizes mean? Just confused on this one.
I wish they had a foam version. I would buy it in a blink of an eye.

  • Looks like its currently on deal at Amazon right now for $562, not as good as all time low of ~$450, but pretty close to last year's Black Friday of $550.
