NOTE: extras required for fully functional car - Motor/ESC, Battery & Charger, Servo, Radio transmitter and receiver, paint is optional I guess..

Seems pretty cheap as most places are selling the roller for about $240AUD? I'm going to pull the TX/RX from a couple of crawlers I've got, and bought a brushless setup, servo and batteries from Campbelltown Hobbies as they were the cheapest place with the ones I wanted in stock.

This is more of a racer/basher with plenty of hop ups available for it, rather than just a straight basher.

  • So it’s a kit car without the kit?

    • +1

"Kit" in RC hobby terms means rolling chassis and no electrics. There are obviously ready to run (RTR) cars you can buy which have everything you need out of the box sans battery. Suffice it to say, this particular model is not for you.

      • Okay 30 years ago I got a “kit” for my birthday and I had to build and solder it myself.
My kids are just getting into rc cars now and I’m enjoying it more than them I think. Maybe this particular model isn’t for me right now but I’m looking into it

How much more would you expect to pay to finish off a car like this?

          Charger $??
          Remote $??

That’s the gear I purchased to go with mine, that’s pretty well regarded a good setup for racing/bashing it seems. The charger and remote are a bit open ended, you can buy a high end remote for probably over 1k aud, or a cheap one starting about 1-200$ range.
Chargers can also be had cheap but I already have one for my 1/8th buggy so I haven’t looked into current charger pricing..

They also have the truggy RTR kits: Losi 1/18 Mini-T 2.0 2WD Stadium Truck Brushed RTR, Blue/White, LOS01015T2 https://amzn.asia/d/e3fFIvw

          Or brushless: Losi 1/18 Mini-T 2.0 2WD Stadium RC Truck Brushless RTR (Ready-to-Run) Blue, LOS01019T2 https://amzn.asia/d/3NYGjtB

Those come with every thing needed out of the box, a bit more $ upfront than the kit obviously, but the pro kit comes with some upgraded alu parts over the RTR equivalents, just gotta weigh up which do you think is right for yourself..

        • ‘Kits’ require full DIY assembly (no electronics included) and rollers like this are just factory assembled kits, which there seems to be a lot of these days. I’m not sure rollers even existed 30yrs ago. Just kits and jet hoppers.

Rollers suck a bit because assembly is half the fun and teaches you a lot, but probably necessary for todays short attention spans and distractions.

  • Good price. Get this if you've outgrown your WLtoys 144001

  • Cracker price. Nice find

    • When I first thought the price I thought it might just be some parts for it, but read the fine print and it appears to be the full roller.. so I bought two 😂

      • Haha nice one. If our local club supported this scale, I'd be tempted.

  • 1/16 scale (not your usual 1/10), just in case you're thinking its the larger size.
