God of War Late Arrival through Amazon

I ordered God of War on Amazon back in August where they had it advertised as "release date delivery". Fast forward to yesterday, the morning of the release date, and they announce there's been a delay and it'll be arriving on Friday and it shows it's been dispatched.

Now when I went to look this morning they're suggesting that it will be arriving on the 2nd December!. Speaking to support just leads to them saying how rare an occurrence this is and how sorry they are, and they offer a $5 or $10 credit.

I've had this happen with every release date delivery through Amazon, has anyone else been having this as an issue? I'm in Perth.

    Don't have that issue in Sydney CBD. Pre-ordered in July with Prime and received it (+ GoW DualSense) yesterday on launch day as expected. It really depends on your/warehouse location and shipping service to get release day deliveries.

    Having said that, it does seem like a few people received delayed notifications for God of War Ragnarok specifically which is frustrating. If you order now, it delivers Monday 14th on the site, might be worth cancelling previous order and using that $10 credit for a new order.

    Yep, I haven't got mine and it was only just marked as shipped (as of yesterday) and thankfully it is being delivered by Australia Post.
    I'll likely get this tomorrow (normally 2 days shipping to get amazon items to me) within the state.

    No much you can do because of the high fuel prices there are less Amazon drivers and I've seen many items ordered in the last few months go to 3rd parties like Aramex which take take days for the item to arrive to me.

    Australia Post are generally good in my area but I guess this is expected when you want the 'cheapest' price.

      It's not because in the last few weeks I've been getting deliveries almost daily because their dimwit system thinks doing that is more economical.

      It's simple, never preorder games from Amazon if you want it close to launch. It's been said many times on Ozb they're not reliable.

    I've heard of others who's had success, but I live in Sydney CBD, and it always comes in late. Worse yet, games for some reason always come out on a Friday, so I never receive it until the Monday/Tuesday which means I didn't get to play during the weekend.

    For some reason smaller release games take an extra week, while big release games are just an extra business day or two. But its always like this so I assume its some sort of logistics/algorithm set up.

    To be fair from Amazon side though, its saved me quite a few dollars as I've just cancelled my preorder and realised I probably don't really NEED the game right now. So thats a saving from my side.

    I got mine yesterday.

    I'd just take the credit and suck it up at this rate. That's $10 off the next tardy pre-order you'll inevitably make on Amazon.

    Take the credit, cancel the order, buy at jbhifi, stop ordering from Amazon if it's late to Perth every time, brush your teeth and clean your ears.

      If look to order it now it's giving 6th of December as the ETA, so they must have severely ran out of stock. Just weird that that's possible when you preorder.

    Walked into JB HI FI yesterday and picked up my click and collect order made the day before after using the $10 off offer

    If you're not worried about a physical version, just make a Turkish PSN and buy it on there - and gameshare with yourself.
