Microsoft 365 Subscription Improvements Email

Microsoft email of 08/11/2022 - "Updates to your Microsoft 365 subscription"

The first sentence of the email is "Microsoft is committed to improving your Microsoft 365 subscription"

Contains 2 updates:
Starting November 30, 2023, you will no longer be able to associate a new personalized email address (e.g. [email protected]) with your Outlook.com mailbox.

Starting February 01, 2023, cloud storage (1 TB¹) used across Microsoft 365 apps and services will include Outlook.com attachments data and OneDrive data. <snip … snip> This update will not impact your Outlook.com mailbox storage amount. However, this may reduce how much cloud storage you have available to use with your OneDrive.

    Good time to launch it. Facebook are firing people, Twitter is firing everyone, Apple is going hard into advertising, Amazon is running out of workers (they can hire them from twitter!), Microsoft is… bringing their data storage in line with what Google does.

    I'm more worried about what they're adding

    We also recently launched two new apps available with your subscription, Microsoft Defender² and Clipchamp³.

    Didn't they launch Defender with XP? And they're bringing back clippy????

      Clipchamp was a web-based video editing app they bought earlier this year

    Ours came up for renewal and I was pleased to find a great price on OzBargain to buy it outright!

    Til people will pay Microsoft a subscription to use office.

      It's worth paying becuase actually just the cheapest 1TB cloud storage plan out there. Office is a nice feature but you pay $90 for 6 users with 1TB each. Way better than google/apple/dropbox.
