Are Cheap 20mm Quick Release Watch Bands Bad Quality and Not Worth It?

Wanted to get a fitness type soft silicone watch band and was looking at feedback on these ones or similar.
https://www.amazon.com.au/Silicone-Samsung-Galaxy-Adjustable…

I read through all the seller feedback and theres about 10% of negative feedback for each seller selling these and most of them mention similar things about the watch bands.

One issue seems to be the silicone band falling apart with gentle use in a few months and the second issue which seems to be more common is the quick release part breaking when trying to put the band on.

Anyone have any experience with these watch bands or ones that look similar? they also seem to be popular on eBay.

If they are crap/landfill then can anyone recommend a decently priced 20mm quick release band? I don't want to pay the full $50 to $100 for a smartwatch branded replacement.

  • I’ve had a couple of silicon bands, from eBay and Amazon, the double pack option seemed to be better and last longer.

I would avoid the cheapest possible. I had a cheaper option, the metal press stud eventually rusted on the inside against the silicon.

    • Hi thanks for your comment.

Yeah not so sure on the quality of the soft silicone.
Just going by feedback I read, it just seems like there are big variations in the quality of the soft silicone they use. And it's more on the bad quality side because I can't understand a silicone strap breaking apart in months when I have another silicone band that I have worn for years.

Cheapest ones seem to be $8 to $17 per band. While original branded ones are $50 to $100+. I was just hoping someone could recommend one in between at $25 to $40 because I can't seem to find any of the standard 20mm quick release fitness type. Was hoping some watch people would know.
I can find ones at that price for Fitbit and Apple watch but those won't work.
