Domestic Travel Insurance for Car Rental Excess

Normally credit cards cover international travel rental car excess.

Domestically they do not.

Excess reduction with rental places is about $250-300, buying travel insurance for domestic is $150.

Excess is like $5000.

Any other ways around this?

  • RAC do a car rental excess insurance policy (i.e. this particular option is for car hire only so not as expensive as proper travel insurance that has other extras)

  • Several ANZ credit cards include domestic rental car excess coverage.
