Where to Buy Decent Priced Bike Front Fork?

Hi all,

I have a 10 year old mountain bike that I have converted to an ebike. The front suspension has siezed up due to rust and is beyond repair so need a new front fork. All the specialised on-line bike stores only seems to sell very expensive RockShox or similar forks costing $500+. This is way overkill for what I need and way more than the bike is worth. Anyone got any ideas of where to find more reasonably priced front forks for a bike?

Current for is a SR Suntor XCM if that helps!

Cheers!

  • Buy a second hand bike and raid that.

Cheap suspension forks provide little to no benefit, get a rigid fork. They don’t work on road and just add weight and complexity.

If you really must buy a cheap suspension fork (don’t) just pick any random supplier from evilbay, alibadstuff etc. Bike shops and bike suppliers don’t sell them for a reason.

  • Check ebay and gumtree.

  • Do you have a tapered or straight steerer? 26 or 29 inch rims?

  • I upgraded my fork a few years ago with this one: https://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/manitou-markhor-mtb-mount…
Air forks are generally lighter than coil spring. Make sure you select the correct steerer tube diameter. There are a few other cheaper options from cyclingdeal if you look for them.
