Bargain or scam?

So, I was browsing the New Deals page when I noticed "Hitachi 1TB Portable Hard Drive $45 Free Shipping" had been deleted as it breached eBay posting rules.

Given that these things have been going for ~$100, I was intrigued and came across this after a bit of searching.

Given the zero feedback seller and the large number of unit that have been sold in the past day and a bit (at time of posting, 78 units since the item was listed at 1:32pm on 26 June), does anyone else think that a whole bunch of people are about to get scammed? Or am I being too pessimistic and missing out on a crazy deal?

Edit: Mods, please feel free to remove link if you think it's inappropriate.

Honestly, this has the classic tell-tales of scam written all over it.

Zero feedback member, new account created on 11 June 2012, no ABN, no contact details. And the seller also couldn't even take the time to write up some fine prints, as is the case with most sellers selling items in bulk.

Do you want to risk your time and possibly $$ to hopefully score a bargain? Well for the savings of ~$60, I personally wouldn't waste my time.

    • Just what i was thinking…

      Well, scam it is!

Hopefully no one was left out of pocket.

  • "A fool and my money are soon partners".

  • I emailed the guy 2 days ago about it to confirm to me its a genuine deal but yeah NOPE… NO REPLIES whatsover.

Lucky I held back through caution. I hope the 78 people that purchased get their money back from PayPal cos I don't think they will get it back from him.

  • I bought 4, just on the off chance (like 1 in 1000 lol) that is was real.

The key is to not pay straight away. Just sit on it until such time as it either gets removed, or its still there after the 7 days you have to pay. Then and only then do you pay, and only use a credit card via PayPal.

I keep playing this game, but I've never won yet. (haven't lost either though)
