Has anyone sold their car through cars24 before?
They are offering to buy my car for a price I'm comfortable to let it go for. Seems like they do a virtual inspection and if they are happy with the condition, they will pay you $100.00 deposit. Then they send you a copy of the sale contract to sign via DocuSign. Once signed, they will transfer the funds to your account and will pick up the car when it clears.
This must be for the old car <$10K?
8yr old car with 40,000km. Yes under $10k.

Virtual inspection was easy but a bit tedious as they were thorough. Like I had to open things and close them multiple times shown on camera, turn engine over once while inside and once while outside etc.
They say you only need 1 person, but I found it easier with 2. Had to zoom in to any stains on seats and scratches on outside. They tell you what they want and in the order they want it, so you don’t have to figure anything out, just take the time to do it.
Less friggin' around with tyre kickers and w@nkers on gumtree and FBM.

What's the price they're offering like compared to what someone is advertising (noting that the price advertised is not likely the price it will be sold for, if it's sold) for on Carsales?
I'm guessing the margin between what Cars24 are offering vs what they think they can sell for must be pretty huge given that they're buying these cars "unseen". The cars could be complete duds mechanically!
If I sold the car privately through carsales or gumtree, I might be lucky to get $3K more than the cars24 offer but I'd have to wait for the right buyer and organise inspections etc. my car is still in good condition but the kms are quite high. I went to a dealership the other day and they offered me about $2K less than what cars24 are offering.

That does sound like a pretty decent offer then, especially if your car's worth a bit more. (I guess it really depends on how much you value your time and effort when dealing with idiots haha).
Most people wait weeks of full-time work to get 3k.

I tried it out for 2 cars, says sorry we are at capacity for such and such car.
Had my car on gumtree and was getting texts from them. Ended up getting 2k more from someone else
From comments above it look ma like they probably want their margin to be in the order of $2-3k. If you’re happy to give them that margin in return for less hassle that’s your choice. I’m gonna sell privately. $2k is better in my pocket.
Yes, I have sold a couple of cars through Cars24. Good experience from my end, paid within a couple of days and collected the car a day after payment.
Both cars between $40-60k
Sold my car to them 4 months ago. They paid good price at the time and they inspected the car through video call. I received payment few days later than what I was told. And the pick up was delayed for 2 weeks as well lol
Update: thanks everyone. I managed to sell through cars24. Fair straight forward process and payment was made earlier than expected :) would recommend if your after a haggle free sale.
Yep, was a good deal they paid me double what Carsales instant offer would have. Virtual inspection was a video call with a guy from India, local guy came and picked it up when money was in account. Pretty easy and quick.
