An Increasing Prevalence of 'will X Product Be $Y on Black Friday' Forum Posts?

Do people think OzBargainers have some kind of magic crystal ball powers to know the prices weeks in advance?

Do people think that the usual laws of supply and demand somehow don't apply for one day of the year?

Seems like more than usual this year.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2022

    What's Black Friday?¿

All valid points, OP. My PC is getting long in the tooth, is it best to wait to Black Friday sales in 2026 to purchase a Mac?

Don't be silly, wait for the next generation after that, always wait for the next generation.

OK, should I get the X year +1 generation?

        • +1

Always. It's a little bit of a wait, bit worth it. You don't want to get that old stuff.

    Its not just that.

There's also ones like should I buy property now or wait? Shall I buy ETFs now or nah?

Do these people understand they are asking for a crystal ball?

You get a crystal ball when you join OzBargain platinum membership. They just don't want to pay the joining fee but are trying to get the benefits.

I've been just trying to guess if deals will happen like an idiot!

      • It's one of those if you know you know things.

Well, plenty of forum comments before, but first thread. Better late than never.

  • Did you not know OZ Bargain users know how to use black magic like goolge better than allot of posters as searching google answers allot of the questions asked.
Did you knot know that posters asking are asking because they have no idea how to use black magic (google)….

The answer for allot of answers is "google". Used to be AltaVista when I was a newbie, but things change.

  • A sign of increasing competition for the diminishing purchasing power.

  • The questions are just from people that don't watch the market themselves and expecting advice from people that do.

Impatience certainly is annoying when anyone wants a prediction for 7 days away, when there's hunters willing to spend years waiting on the right price.

  • Listen mate. We have ozbargain veterans here with decades of bargaining experience.
Their ptsd of sales and crazy discounts allows them to see 5 steps ahead of retailers.

    Respect our troops.
