Can I bulk-buy prepaid sim cards?

Hey,

weird question,

but if I wanted to buy between 15-20 prepaid sim cards (all registered with my identification), would it be possible?

Would I have my name added to a watch list somewhere for having a high number of prepaid numbers?

Would it somehow be flagged on a credit check?

You dont have to be so serious about cheating in Call of Duty. It is just a game…

depending how many ID documents you have. Each one can take 3 - 5 sims. Passport, Driver License, and possibly Medicare?

      Buy ≠ Activate

I don't think there is a limit in a supermarket.

There are some more IDs from optus and medibank.

    Why?

  • Are you a nigerian prince?

    • The guy has multiple girlfriends or wives.
He needs to make sure he can control the numbers so they don't ring each other and bust him.

  • depends where you buy them, some places have people that won't care and others will just take too long.
could previously buy them online in bulk and acivate a number hat worked for sms, but not calls - depends what you need them for.

maxed out at 99 sims per transaction, but looks like that site is dead now.

There is a bit of wild speculation in this thread. There is no limit to how many Sim cards you may purchase, just answer honestly when you activate them and note how many you have.
If you are not breaking the law, nobody will care.

If you get on a watch list, so what? Just don't do other shady stuff and there won't be any issue.

  • not sure about other telcos but if its prepaid under Optus, you need to link a bank card, if your card auto rejects the attempted debit your service will stop so I dont think this would impact your credit at all.

Nobody check you buying SIMs via Woolies or Coles for self-checkout. Go nuts.

You might have issues when it comes to activations, but as I'm well into double digits over the years, I dunno when you'll be flagged - although I want you to find out for me!
