Introducing the first release in the Finders Distillery, Barrel Aged Series… the Bourbon Maple Barrel Aged Gin.

For their barrel aged series, they created a gin especially designed for aging. Featuring juniper, cassia bark, orris root and wattle seed, it’s the perfect starting place for great flavour to come. Each expression in our barrel aged series sees this gin enriched by the history of the barrel.

The ex-bourbon barrels were dripping in maple syrup when they arrived at their doorstep, a glimpse at the exceptional depth of flavour. After maturation, the result is a rich complex spirit that is unmistakably maple in aroma with residual bourbon characters complementing the cinnamon, pine & earthy notes from the gin.

This is a very limited batch so get in quick!

    What's so special about this?

    • a rich complex spirit that is unmistakably maple in aroma with residual bourbon characters complementing the cinnamon, pine & earthy notes from the gin.

    • The rest of Australia can pay lower north shore prices?

  • Love the Crown Royale maple bourbon, tempted to give this a crack

    • Likewise.

But I haven’t been able to find it here in Aus for the last few years.

Any pointers on where I could pick some up?

      • +4

Nope sorry, picked up 2 bottles from Dan's a few years ago, probably have a couple sips left 😢
Curiously there is an empty bottle for sale on eBay for $36, maybe you can poor some Canadian club and maple syrup in there and lie to yourself?

    • +1

Its a gin that distilled in bourbon barrels.
Flavours are rich complex with maple & cinammon flavour. Very unique and selling fast!

You may want to click "associated" if you know that they are selling fast?

        • Fair point. I'm a friend of the founders , so happy to say associated. I don't know the exact numbers though. Just a presumption.

  • Anyone know if this is available at the cocktail bar or cellar door? Would love to try before I buy a few bottles. Not a big gin drinker personally but the description appeals.

you might want to find out how long it was aged in the barrel, unlike whisky there aren’t any laws for ageing gin ….

    • +2

+1 came here to ask this. Likely only a few weeks or months at best. Very cheap process compared to whisky!

      • +1

Not sure how its a cheap process. 1 day can still be classed as aged and there is no reason at all to care how long it has been for a Gin. Its completely different to whisky that is meant to get better with age, its purely about the taste it gives only. It doesnt take long for wood to impart its flavours into a clear spirit and too long and it gets pretty awful. It doesnt help to make 'smoother' to drink the way its known to with brown spirits.

Good question to ask the distillery themselves :D

    • Hey it's been aged for 6 months in the ex-bourbon, ex-maple syrup barrels. We do all of our aging by taste, at 6 months the spirit was at the perfect level of flavour without being over oaked. As you said it's a completely different process to whisky and we are looking for different flavour profiles. That being said, this is a gin for whisky lovers (coming from a whisky lover myself) and is made to be sipped neat.
