Thats the type of thing someone who never travels says…… If you travel alot, have a good suitcase/luggage is essential. They are generally light weight, good quality zippers, wheels, internal expansion, locks, long warranty etc etc
If you travel once a year etc - then its not so important
and some luggages come with 10 yrs warranty
Nice to assume I don't travel, been to 60 countries in the last 12 years. I have used only two luggages (both from kmart/big w) with no issues. My close friend is a Qantas pilot, he rocks an Aldi special luggage, for good reason.

Exactly what we did - we actually went to Costco Japan and they had old Rimowa stock for $700 (Oct 2022)
