What Is LG C2 TV Like for Sport - AFL?

Hi all,

Thinking about upgrading my trusty Panasonic plasma for a LG C2 but wanted to get real world verdict on what it's like for sport, in particular AFL which obviously has fast ball movement.

The reason I ask is that my BIL bought last year's Samsung OLED and it had so much motion blur I was shocked and has made me a little hesitant.

Can anyone let me know their experience please?

Thanks.

  • I replaced my Panasonic plasma for a LG C1. It's better in every way, including sports.

I still have my Panasonic plasma as a 2nd TV.

FYI, the Samsung TV your BIL bought last year was NOT an OLED. Samsung only released OLEDs a few months ago.

Maybe it was ULED or QLED… I dunno, I don't keep up with Samsung.

Like the JimB said above, Samsung only enter the OLED game this year with their QD-OLED. Prior to that they've been all about the QLED tech so you BIL probably has that. OLEDs are generally better apart from brightness but they're slowly getting better in that regard too.
I was tossing up between a C2 and Sony's A80K a month or 2 ago and went with the Sony since it had a better deal at the time.Plus we watch alot of movies & sport (European football) and Sony's motion handling is right up there with the best even though everyone else has bridged the gap to them in recent years. Hard to go wrong these days with LG or Sony's mid to high end lines for general viewing these days unless you have a particular use case.

I have a LG C1 77". It is awesome at everything, including Foxtel AFL HD and 4k. If you get a C2 you are a winner in 2022.

  • Well, in short, you're not going to get a TV that does any better unless its a G series

  • Had a 60 inch TCL fhd led. Replaced it with a LG c1 65 inch last year.
Watching sports, including AFL, are significantly more enjoyable now

  • What room are you putting this in? If its bright and you watch during the day, OLED might not be a good option.

  • The motion will be worse than the plasma but the massive boost to brightness makes up for it. I have a Panasonic VT50 plasma in one room and a GZ1000 OLED in the other and I enjoy watching sport on both equally but for different reasons.

The only better option is a Sony X90/95K and they will be a lot worse than an OLED for everything else other than sport.

Man so much miss information like the comment above I have a 77C1 and put games from the PS5, watch alot of movies and sport with a lot of motion and never have I had an issue, the C2 is a fast processor again so you will be fine. Just make sure you turn off all the motion processing etc.

Did you ever own a high-end Panasonic plasma capable of 1080 lines of motion resolution?

I found the motion on my 83C1 is equal to my 65inch Panasonic STxx 1080P Plasma.

Didn't notice any difference in motion but OLED was brighter.

Both great TVs. Only upgraded from Plasma to OLED due to size. A pity that Panasonic left the Australian market.
