I had this on PS2 and never played it. Now I have it on PC so I can not play it again. Nostalgia.

You should give it a go. It’s not just a MGS clone. It’s such a shame the series seems to be dead.

I was so excited when the "new" Splinter Cell was announced (Double Agent) and it was so incredibly disappointing compared to the original trio. Obviously people were bored playing stealth shooters, but it completely ruined what SC was.

        • Play the latest one, Blacklist. Goes back to its stealthy roots and is a blast to play.

      • You do realise they just came out with a video detailing the remake?

I haven't played any free game i have downloaded from here

      • I've played a few of them. I still enjoy collecting them even if I don't play them.

    • Haha same for xbox mate :/

I had it on Gamecube and remember thinking the graphics were wild. Fabric flopped and moved around with the wind. You could see the shadow of moving fan blades in a dusty room.

  • I want this but not give them my private info. what do?

    • +14

      Give them fake private info

      • +1

Make sure the fake info is real.

I started this game a hundred times but never finished. Somehow gets very boring midway.

2002 called and want their graphics back.

Chaos Theory was the best in the series.

Double Agent on 360/PC was weird, but Double Agent on the OG Xbox was much closer to Chaos Theory in playstyle - since they were really two separate games sharing the same name.

Chaos theory holds up as a fantastic stealth game still imo, also has a really great dynamic soundtrack by Amon Tobin. And yeah I remember going out of my way to get a copy of Double Agent for my old xbox that i had lying around from when i was a teenager, so that I could finally play the split screen co-op for it with a mate. Kind of a shame how the rest of the series is pretty average or actively terrible after those two games.

      • also has a really great dynamic soundtrack by Amon Tobin

Yes!! Pity the Bank track isn't on the official soundtrack, I had to do some jury-rigging to get it into my favourites

        • I still have a 5.1 mix CD of the soundtrack I bought like 12 years ago, pretty nice little collectors item

Fantastic game series, even the first one is fun (also Michael Ironside is Sam Fisher).
Also, if you have the latest Xbox you can actually get the full collection and play them all (original xbox series inclusive).

      Do you wanna live forever!

Has splinter cell been remastered? Can't imagine this is gonna look good 20 years on.

Just FYI this game doesn't display correctly on modern hardware. Its roots are from the original XBox and works best with GeForce3/4/FX types GPUs. You'll miss out on all the nice shadows unfortunately.

  • Nice to have in the collection. But with it being remade not much point to playing until then.

    • +1

The remake will be a fundamentally different game, thus a different experience. Still worth playing

      • Cheers

  • How long did it take for others for it to show up in their library? Not gotten an email and checking on https://ubisoftconnect.com/en-US/games/ has it not showing up.

    • Mine was instant, but I did not get an email, and usually don't when I add games.
