Might be worth also considering the just-announced Garmin Bounce - seems like a pretty decent upgrade over the vivofit jr series, but may or may not suite your child, age, preferences, etc.

Get a Xiaomi Band 6. They are way more colourful, a heap more features, can still get cute bands for them and they are about 1/3rd the cost.
