For those interested in the Seiko, look at some other photos or videos online before buying. The case has a strange cement like look that is hard to see in the Starbuy pictures which definitely won't be appealing to some. This video shows it well.

  • I can't bring myself to buy any of the new 5s because they remind me of the SKX which had way more character and were built like a tank.

I got this one because I think it's the most interesting of the lot: https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-watch-bj6531-8…

This one is cool too; nice size, sapphire, Made in Japan, but I don't like roman numerals and already have too many all-black watches. If it was all stainless, with arabic or dagger/stick indices and no useless sub-dial, it'd be an instabuy

Thanks OP purchased the seiko for a Xmas present. I think the concrete finish is a nice aesthetic and it’s not really that noticeable on this bezel compared to the flat bezel version. Great as a daily tool watch because you won’t be scared of scratching it!!

  • @rosebank those watches of yours are nice but they're dress watches by comparison…..

I ended up buying the beautiful Seiko SSB401P, decent contrast 41mm bezel Chronograph with quartz movement. I'd been eyeing it off for a while and at $200 I think it's a bargain for something so good looking.

I'm keen to get a panda style chronograph but it seems like I'll have to wait a while due to availability and prices…
