  • Is this a good deal mate? I have makita drill machine with battery.so looking for advise here

    • If you need one of these tools, these are very low prices, best I've seen and I spent ages looking for that saw, eventually bought last year for $278.

      • $232 is cheap, gummers/fb market place has it for $240, retail is $275. I bought one as an upgrade from ozito one. Night and day, might return the ozito.

      • How about multitool? Do we have to buy blades later on? Is this a good multitool or should i buy somw other brand which is not that expensive?

        • This is a multitool.

        • 100% depends how often you will use it and do you need cordless? All my tools are Makita but I only needed a multitool myself for a one off job (wife broke the ceramic soap holder in the shower). Bought the el cheapo XU1 from Bunnings and did the job in no time and haven't touched the tool since.

    • The previews model which sells for close to $200 and is still available in many places is a better Multi Tool, I use mine regularly, but unless you use it regular I see no point in having one.

    • Read into the uses of all the accessories of the multitool before you buy.
For most people the jobs they are doing are small enough where they dont need it or just have a hand tool that will work.

Ive ignored buying a multi tool as i just kind of have other tools that can do the same thing, The only bit i like of the multi tool is its wood cutting ability is much more compact
Cutting thru Steel - Angle Grinder
Wood - Circular Saw / Angle Grinder
Cutting thru Plastic - Angle Grinder
Cutting thru Plaster - Hand Saw
      Sanding - Sander

      • Last thing I would pickup is an angle grinder for any of those jobs, overkill for most, and much more dangerous than a multitool or recipro saw or jigsaw or circular saw.

  • Bugger, just bought the rapid charger and 2x5 Amp batteries from total tools for $399. It’s $354 here.

  • DTM50ZX5 multitool is selling for $213. Which one is good DTM50ZX5 or DTM52? Pls advise. Thnx

    • +1

DTM52 is the next model up, lighter, brushless motor vs brushed, it has quick release lever to change blades, but think uses different blades. It would be worth the extra $20 IMO

      • yeah saw that on youtube videos…even noticed that ryobi whole kit multitool is selling for $149..so i am little confused that for occasional use, shoud i go for ryobi and save money? it has 4.8 rating with good reviews

        • Depends if you invested in Makita or Ryobi eco system?

          • @huntabargain: yeah true I have only 1 makita battery cordless drill machine and ryobi petrol whipper snipper..so not many products of makita..but its a great brand to own..bit pricey though

  • +1

Damn it. I bought DTM52 just 2 weeks ago.

For those that are interested in DTM52.
    1. Adaptor available to convert STARLOCK to OIS
    2. The quick release is handy
    3. The front light is less an importance

Few months ago I bought DEWLAT MULTI TOOL CORDLESS BL 18V XR 3SPD BARE DCS356N-XJ for $184.

    • Is that the oslo tools adaptor?

  • Bought this a few months ago for similar price. Used it many times for sanding and making plunge cuts, no complaints very comfortable to use, minimal vibration. Keep in mind this uses Starlock blades which are more expensive compared to standard OIS Blades. But adapter can be bought seperately.

    • The cut is significantly better than on the ozito version, night and day. Far less vibration too.

  • i bought these since its a great deal. now time to figure out what diy project to do. thanks mate
