Colorful GeForce RTX 4080 16GB NB EX-V Video Card $2219 Delivered @ BPC Technology

82

I would strongly recommend not purchasing this card, but it seems to be quite a bit cheaper than the other posted deal - and doesn't make you pay for postage either!

Apparently the RTX 4080 has the worst sales volume of any GPU launch ever, so don't expect stock to dry up anytime soon.

And of course, the 7900 XTX launch on the 13th of December will only add to Jensen's woes.

Edit: Real deal was in the comments, here's the 4080 Eagle at Umart for $2199 delivered thanks to Osiris.

Mod update: No more free delivery. As delivery fee is significant, this post is expired.

I prefer the black and white model

    • Your wallet prefers this one though!

    • Based on your username, I thought you prefer Gigabyte Eagle…

Glad you bought the Asus Tuf 3080 a while back. These 4080 cards are fugly looking one.

        • Gosh, are you a stalker? XD

          • @edfoo: We knew each other before. I can travel through time you know.

    This, or a new house?

    • +14

If you can get a house with more than 16GB VRAM I'd pull the trigger.

      • +1

This version is slightly smaller than the 4090 - enough to fit in your house

        • +1

4090 looks you dead in the eyes, "I am the house now"

          • @twig: Not just the "i am your house now"…. should be "i am your mortgage payments now" :P

    • +1

Are you SLI-ing your new house

  • +6

Thats the MSRP price not sure really a deal.

Umart has Eagle at 2199 right now which is actually under MSRP and could warrant being a deal.

  • Colorful? Name does not check out…

  • +7

    7900 XTX to the rescue!

  • +3

If it wasn't for the price it'd be a great GPU, reviews were very impressive.

Ironically the price probably pushes you to buy a 4090 instead…. What's money at that range.

    • Can you even find a 4090 for under $3200? It’s a big difference…

      • +3

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090

6 deals below $3200, 5 of which are below $3000

In a bit over a month.

Definitely going to be plenty more options to get them under $3200 if there arent any right now.

      • +1

If you can afford $2200 plus on a GPU, you should be able to afford $3000.

The problem is people wanting things they can't afford, going on credit, pay later etc etc.

Not saying either is a good option. But it is what is, atleast from a performance figure they are more than most would need for a looooong time to come.

I wouldn't be surprised if they drop a bit next year with AMD in the market.

        • maybe this performance is enough, not about being able to afford.

          • @kaio85:

I really need a 4080 perf, and am willing to spend 4.5% of an average yearly income on it, but i really dont't think the top card for 5.5% is worth it.

I'm curious if anybody has ever thought this.

            • @ssfps: That's just the way you are thinking about it. It doesn't mean everyone thinks this way.

      • There's lots at MSRP, plus been a few on Feebay for below $2.7k with the recent sales. And the Techfast one was $2.8k for weeks.

    • +2

Which seems to be the whole point

  • HODL….. jokes

Gigabyte 3000s leaks oil from the pads, still present in this one?

Prices won't settle until the refresh in 12 months imo.

      Said who?

      • +7

He said 'imo' so, evidently. He did.

        • lol

      • +2

Yep nothing official just my rough headcanon based on observation. They'll ride on the fumes of the pandemic for as long as they can. Significantly more used GPUs will continue to flood the market since Etherium, and most of Ampere's stock should be sold by then. The last point being simply if enough people are willing to pay MSRP or not. If enough people hold out or buy used, hopefully NVIDIA and gang will come back down to reality.

  • +6

    Bargain, I bought NONE.

  • +2

I'll wait till the LHR version is released. Might be more affordable.

    • +2

ETH mining is long gone. There won't be LHR like forever…

Crypto going to the netherworld soon, will LUNA, FTX and what's next going bust.

  • About as expensive as my entire system that I just built which includes a 6800. Nvidia probably stalling until the next crypto bull run.

    • +1

Honestly not really a great price for an RX 6800 system. There's been 3080 prebuilts for $500 less.

      • +1

For sure, it's full of impulse buys so I'm not surprised. I got sick of waiting for better prices so I just finished purchasing the core parts a few days ago.

        CPU: Intel i5 12600KF - $364.65
        MB: MAG B660M MORTAR WIFI DDR4 - $242.25
        RAM: 2x Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz CL16 DDR4 RAM - $156
GPU: Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6800 (used) - $550
HSF: DEEPCOOL Assassin III - $87.99
        Case: Fractal Define 7 - $199
        Fan: Arctic P14 140mm PWM PST Fan - White - $12
PSU: Gigabyte Aorus AP850GM 850W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Power Supply $119 + $15 (shipping)
        NVMe: Kingston 1TB M.2 SSD A2000 2280 NVMe PCIe3.0 X4 $124
        SSD: Crucial CT2000MX500SSD1 2 TB SATA $169
        Total - $2038.89

Plus some slower 8TB HDDs and it's around 2.2k

        • +1

Actually those prices aren't too bad for an all-in-all premium build. Probably the CPU and mobo are where the most savings could've been had, with a ~$180 5600, ~$100 b550m and a $30 tower cooler like the thermalright assassin x120 (although you did get a good price on the Assassin III).

The only thing I really don't like is the case, that's quite a lot for a fairly outdated case design with poor airflow, but the 6800 is quite power efficient so it should still be fine.

  • +1

The number of Cuda cores at this price point is very disappointing - only 9,728. The 4090 has a huge boost from the number of cores from the 3090 and I was hoping we would see the same increase here.. Unfortunately not so if you're looking to use these new cards for scientific / work purposes it looks like the 4090 is probably a better investment.

    • +2

      Can someone say TIe?

  • +1

what a bargain, going to get 10

  • +1

5080 might cost $3500 next year.

  • +2

Just need to knock that crypto-craze hangover $1000 off and it'll be a fantastic deal.

  • +1

This is just a bad deal IMHO. I dont know why someone would want to spend over $ 2000 for a video card. And with these manufactures monopoly we are just giving in, how does this post even got 7 positive votes. Have you looked at the price vs performance ratio. For a minimal upgrade from previous 3080 or a 3090 video cards, how are we justifying the price.

    • You might want to check out the voting guidelines, not liking the RRP is not a reason to neg.

Also, plenty of people bought 3080s for over $3k and 3090s for over $4k.

      • Issue with retailer/product

I'd say the video card duopoly scheming the keep the market as inflated as possible (i.e. see nvidia reporting record profit margins to shareholders a year ago) is a good enough reason to down-vote a hugely inflated market-manipulating launch price, regardless of whether it's technically the cheapest available at this moment.

        • Not sure if you've seen Ngreedia's recent corporate earnings, but they've collapsed lol. They're still trying to retain the same unit margins as in the height of the crypto boom, but the volume has completely collapsed.

      • +2

Not liking the RRP is no reason???
Ummmmm if it's RRP then it's not a bargain!
RRP is just what it is and no discount/savings to be had. For that comment alone this should be negged.

        • With Ngreedia launches, the RRP price is the deal.

Once the RRP models run out (usually they're gone within a few minutes/hours, the 4080 launch is an anomaly) all that's for sale are the "OC" models, which are basically the same cards as the base models with the same coolers, but you pay an extra $200+ plus for the "OC" version.

          • @iseeyou1312: Yes you can pay extra for the OC versions but that doesn't mean that the RRP on the cards beforehand are a deal! They're 2 TOTALLY DIFFERENT products. THIS one, is RRP and no discount. Still should be negged. You can give a million reasons why this is a deal….. but you said it yourself… this is RRP

      • It's well known that Nvidia limit supply simply to inflate prices. The RRP definitely deserves to be negged.

  • Like I said this is not really a deal, the 4080 can be had from other retailers at cheaper prices for eg https://www.umart.com.au/ But $2000+ for a video card is unjustificable.

    • +1

Wait till you see the prices of 4090…

  • -1

Selling shitty connectors and blaming users for that - https://wccftech.com/nvidia-confirms-user-error-main-reason-…

  • +2

the price is insane. would buy one for $1200.
Fk Nvidia. still want people to buy 30s. Think about 3070 vs 2080ti. half price but almost the same performance.

  • The price of next gen video cards is starting to get ludicrous. At this rate a RTX 7080 in years to come will be $5K.

    • But by then we could all be rich as! That $5k could be pocket change lmao
Hmmmmm a house or a graphics card… house or graphics card………
