  • Upgrading to SMA inverter will cost you an additional $850

What does an SMA inverter do that warrants spending the extra $$$ ?

    • +1

It's an option for those concerned that the sun is already large enough

    • +1

SMA inverter is German-made! They are considered one of the best in the market, however, you tend to pay extra for them.

      • What does it do differently?

        • +3

          generates power germanically!

        • It comes preconfigured with German language.

  • Any recommendations for Sydney?

    • +18

Taronga Zoo is worth a visit.

  • Good combo and price. I had 6.6kw of 370w Longi panels and 5kw Sungrow inverter installed 2.5years ago and they've been excellent. I've been in credit for every bill since and paid off my system at around the 2 year mark. No degradation on energy production, still as good as the day it was installed. If the installers on this deal have a good reputation/reviews, jump on it

    • I'm looking in nsw and a system this size and quality is over 5k.

      • If you read the quote, you can see that before Victorian specific rebates, this is also close to 5k.

      • I paid $3800 with a great local Sydney installer but that was well before prices starting climbing. $5K seems good if that's for a Longi/Sungrow install with a good installer (not a Sunboost, door to door, mass sales mob)

        • +1

Could you share details of the Sydney installer please?

    • How bigs your battery?

      • +1

I don't have a battery and I don't personally think they're worth purchasing just yet. Hoping they'll become more affordable in the near future to justify the payback period vs remaining usable life

    • How much energy were you using per day?

I've done some valve calls and it would take me at least 7 years before the system pays itself off.

    • Yes! The combination of LONGi and Sungrow is one the best! We received similar feedback from our customers too.

  • +1

What areas is this available for? Just metro?

    • Please email your address, mobile number to [email protected], we will provide you with a quote based on the location! If the location is more than 120kms from the metro, we charge a little more.

  • +1

    Up fornt?

    • $2190 upfront, we can provide a payment plan with $0 upfront. Please email us your details at [email protected] one of our friendly staff will reach out.

  • Can anyone recommend a reputable company for Perth region?

    • +1

Am in the market too. Looking at feedback, best to avoid companies that subcontract.

  • What's the best of the best at the moment in terms of panels and inverter?

    • Subjective. SolarEdge and LG maybe.

      • Agree it is subjective. Humbly disagree with your suggestions though.

LG have left the solar industry.

        Solaredge see this https://www.mcelectrical.com.au/solaredge-inverter-optimiser…

Sounds like Sunpower and and REC might be the best premium panels. Fronius seems to have a good reputation. SMA used to be the premium brand to have, now not so much.

Though I'm all for value so I'd be happy with the brands advertised. But make sure they can't do a bait and switch

  • Hi OP, emailed.

  • Hey op

Looking for solar but my roof one day will get cleaned/painted. Not in the near future but certainly within 10 years.

    Should I delay?

    • It really depends on your roof condition. If the roof needs cleaning, get it done before the solar installation.
10 years is a long time, if the roof is in good shape, you can proceed with the solar installation.

      • Thanks op - and when you say switchboard upgrade - what exactly is that (at the expense of sounding simple)?

  • We required additional space to install a circuit breaker on your switchboard. If you're not sure, please email me at [email protected]. If there's no space we have to create a new one by joining the existing circuit breakers, the additional cost for this is $200

However, if you have an old fuse board, you might need a full switchboard upgrade, which will cost an additional $900.

  • Anyone in Melbourne used Amazing Solar and been quoted on a 6.64kW system with Jinko panels and Fronius inverter?

  • Spoke to 'Austin' and he was very hard to understand.
I got quoted $5500 double storey post STC and did not get $4990 +400.
    So I call deal unobtainable.

    • Please email me your details at [email protected], and I will call you back!
      - Andy

  • Is this still available? Got some quotes from the solar website and the quotes are $1500-$2000 more than here

  • Does the package come with an app to monitor?

    • +1

Yes, you can download the app to monitor the system performance!

  • Emailed you, awaiting for your response.

    • +1

I hope you have received the response! If not please email me at [email protected]

  • Anyone had experience with Marshall Energy. Any feedback

    • +2

      So far not the greatest.
Basically claiming STCs ending 31st Dec but won't provide install until Christmas.
Don't want anything to do with you after you pay your deposit.
Can't get the same price as advertised.
