TV Sound Bar & Black Friday - Big Room / Minimalist Look

I'm getting a new TV (and soundbar) this Black Friday - have been holding out post moving into a large living room. I currently have a 65" Bravia (KD-65A8F) with 'acoustic surface', so the sound is good enough (for us) and we've had no need for a sound bar. Chances are whatever Bravia I settle on won't have in-built quality speakers. I also have a Yamaha wireless streaming amplifier (WXA-50) to power some ceiling speakers (not to run the TV through though).

To keep a minimalist look, I want a soundbar that doubles up as the bass speaker.

Any black Friday deals you'd recommend?

  • No soundbar on its own will give you decent bass, but as you're reference is tv speakers which you think are 'good enough', pretty much any midrange soundbar will outdo that.

Sonos arc + sub (plus some IKEA surrounds) is what I migrated to when downsizing from a large surround setup and am pretty happy with the outcome.

    • FYI to OP: this "downsized" setup costs about ~$2,500, so you could buy any top range sound bar setup for that much.

  • Yamaha YAS 109. Single unit. Dual woofers. You’ve used Yamaha. Expect to pay $199 next week.

    • That unit looks like it can be mounted on the wall as well which might help OP with the minimalism.

  • Denon DHT-S216

  • If you get a Sony, their Master Series range have the acoustic panel. So if you're happy with the sound of that, maybe just increase your budget slightly to a Sony.
