Need a Magsafe 2 Charger for My 2015 MacBook Pro. Apple or Third Party?

My previous charger broke and am in need of a new one. Buying directly from Apple costs $119, which is absurd for a charger that is over 7 years old. https://www.apple.com/au/shop/product/MD506X/A/apple-85w-mag…

Is there any third party companies that make reliable chargers that act as a MagSafe 2?

Reckon you can get that one replaced for free via ACL?

    'scuse me

  • I use the $25 ones on eBay. Never had a problem.
Just read the description carefully, there are some saying MagSafe 1 wired into the T shaped MagSafe 2 connector.

But if it says magsafe2 from a reputable seller, you'll likely be fine.

  • fwiw I had a cheap non genuine charger… it made a slight high pitched noise, but nothing major.

3 months later, KA-BOOM. It was on the couch. Couch was hot to the touch, smoke filled the lounge room.

Since then I've stayed clear of dodgy chargers.

You could get a second hand one? Cashies?

i got this cable for about $25 and just used it with a 3rd party PD wall charger without issue.
