Does activate by 15th mean ported on the same day as well?

  • Still haven't received the sim card. Went on live chat. They couldn't really fully confirm that one had been sent out. Was told to buy a $2 sim from the supermarket for them to activate manually.

    • I was told via support email to buy a $2 pack and then to go into my account to activate. Except that there is no process to activate a different SIM. So now some SIM that hasn't arrived is being activated. Off to live chat.

      • Spoke to online chat. Process is after activating through your account, go into the plan and choose Replace SIM on the menu on the left. Then put in the new SIM card number and activate.

  • Did everyone got a new mobile number? I bought the pack and did not even open it.
In the chat with Amaysim just now, they told me this card is already linked or assigned a new phone number?!!

  • Anyone else having issues receiving the SMS authorisation code to transfer number? It basically says the SMS was sent but nothing comes through. Tried 3 times.

I had a lot of trouble porting my number across because the SMS authorisation code was not being sent. I tried both through the app and through their website. Ended up spending 1.5 hours on chat support and they couldn't get the SMS to send either. She then wanted me to email 2 forms of ID into them so they can escalate it and I said theres no way I'm emailing IDs to some helpdesk. Their call centre is in the Philippines and who knows where my IDs could end up. The chat support agent wouldn't even give me a ticket number until I emailed in my IDs.

I then rang up telephone support instead and the guy there was able to get the SMS come through to my phone and port me across in 2 minutes.

  • Anyone having shocking data coverage with this sim? Using Samsung S21… I was initially with Optus then Telstra on this phone (both fine) now I'm getting virtually non existent data coverage, can't even send a Facebook message half the time. What could be wrong? Phone has set itself up to to use Optus Yes Internet APN since inserting the new SIM….
