My son just found this and sent it to me as a Christmas present idea. Seems to be cheapest compared to other majors

Might be a bargain, but this game hasn't improved in over a decade.

I agree but you may want to buy it this time because it's the last one of the series dating back to 1992(?). If next year's game from the new FIFA affiliate turns out worse the price of this will actually go up and it will be difficult to find physically.

FIFA ended it's license arrangement with EA so another company will be making the game for 2024. So, as bad as this game is this might just be a collector's year because it's the last one.
This game is not even worth a banana. The first weeks it is playable, then they’ll patch it and it is pay to win as every year.

Bought 2018 last week for $2 in the uses section at EB games.
Comments here are pretty negative but imo are from people who would never buy a FIFA game anyway. The World Cup has just started and this is included as a game mode. It will be fun to play along.

I’m in the mood to play along with World Cup. This with perks voucher seems to be a good deal at $39 for ps5/XSX. Now just need to decide which one I’m more likely to play since I understand the two consoles perform identically.
