Sports Ear Buds up to $300

A friend of mine, iPhone user, is looking for some earbuds with over-ear clips.

She's off to New Zealand on Saturday for holidays and was talking about getting something duty free but I figured there might be better deals.

Thanks!

  • Beats Powerbeats Pro, can get them for $348 at Woolworths, claim the 10% back at the airport and thats basically $300.

Unfortunately they seem to have stopped making the version with a connecting wire, which I find is much more useful because you can hang them around your neck when you need to (and harder to lose) and it was also cheaper. But if there are any of those around, also an option (I have these and dont find the cord a problem at all).

Want some cheaper ones, JLab Go Air Sport True Wireless at about $70 but if you want better without the over the ear clips but which twist into the ear and are pretty stable, look at the Jabra options

  • Existing owner of the Powerbeats Pro. They are great when they work, but most of the time they remain in the charging case. The way they have created the charging contacts means it is easily dislodged by the ear hooks when you shut the charging case. This leads to the earbuds not charging properly and by the time you need to use it, either one side is charged and the other isn't, or both not charged. You also need to make sure there is no corrosion and clean the charging contacts on a regular basis. Google "Powerbeats Pro Not Charging" and you will see it is a common problem.
