If you add a non gift card item to your purchase of gift cards at Big W, you can apply the 10% Everyday Extra discount to your purchase which is not supposed to work on gift cards. I have just completed a purchase of Amazon gift cards and a box of tissues and the discount worked.

Why fight gang members for 10% off Amazon gift cards at Aldi when you can buy the ample stock at Big W?

I have only tried this with fixed denomination gift cards currently rather than variable load.

            @J6: Under $500. Didn't want to hit a ceiling, miss discount, set off alarm bells, or get the "you aren't buying this for a scam, are you?" speech again. Just don't forget to include a miscellaneous item in your purchase (a snack, a sponge, something!)

        I did self-checkout. The staff still need to 'authorise' the GCs anyway. But they were super-kind at that particular store, and explained the receipts etc. Lovely shopping experience!

            @Its Never Enough: Yes, plenty of both. I did hear staff chattering about gift cards, and they went over and checked stock. But there were certainly lots there at the time. Some are miss-placed as well. I saw a variable Amazon one hiding behind the standard Amazon $50's for example. Some cards are gone, but still lots of options on my excursion.
            Edit: As per my original post, I brought Amazon GCs.

      after scanning, after getting the staff over to manually confirm, scan everyday rewards… (order not important)…. hit pay, THEN the discount is applied then.

    Just worked with a variable $500 Amazon GC at NSW Big W instore (added a couple non-GC items to be sure). Self checkout showed full price so I went to cash register and it worked there. Cashier did confirm if I wanted 10% off after I scanned rewards card so I suppose it's discretionary

    Worked for me, added $300 to a JB GC and paid $270, plus 0.70 for a Triple Dippers candy.

    Full price will come up at self check out, then after you add your Rewards card, at the end, it will ask if you would like to use your 10%.

    People who are buying gift cards and only getting a total of 10% off thinking they got it to work.. err.. I have some bad news for you.. the gift cards are already 10% off without this everyday rewards hack. Or they are buying variable gift cards that have no discount currently and the everyday rewards hack is giving you 10% off. You're better off buying non variable to get the double 10% discoint.

    Eg. $500 worth of gift cards are currently $450. With the hack, it brings it down to $405.

    Please check your maths.

        If they didn't use variable loads and bought multiples of $50 gift cards, they'd have gotten a further 10% off, giving them effectively 19% off instead of their 10%.

      He got a fair point, 10% on jb giftcard is pretty ordinary. I've been able to stack up a fair amount of them over time and only did that i could get it for 20% discount or so. Unless you need it for one of large purchases of TV or so I wouldn't waste cash banking on them. The amount deals from jbhifi that made to the front page is hardly worth it.
