XBOX on Telstra Contract - Is Cancelling Worth It? Looking for Suggestions Please

I'm currently on Telstra Xbox X series contract with game pass ultimate.
I am looking to terminate the contract that finishes November 2023.
I was told that the penalty is $380 to cancel and if I continue its $46/month.

  1. Can anyone confirm if I cancel contract my game pass subscription will end and I (in fact my son!) would be able to play the games? I've no idea how that works!

  2. Is it worth payout $380 and get game pass from somewhere else? Or keep paying $46/month until Nov next year when the contract finishes?

  3. If I need to buy ultimate game pass from elsewhere, whats the best value and where should I keep an eye on.

Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to gaming, mainly got this for the kids.

    1. Yes. Can still play games you own. Can’t play free games from game pass

    2. You’re an adult who fathered a child. Make your own decision on that. I paid for my 24 months then cancelled.

    3. Hard to say. Sometimes on ozbargain there are those discounted xbox gold subscriptions which can extend game pass ultimate subscription

    There is no penalty, you just pay off the remaining interest free payments, plus maybe one last month of full price GamePass. You can probably get GamePass a lot cheaper elsewhere so in the long run it's cheaper to cancel. I don't know if the three year of Gamepass for like $120 hack still works but if it does you'll save a good bit of money over the next few years compared to paying the full $15.99 a month.

    Also it might be worth getting out of contract and just paying $15.99 a month if it means you can skip a few months. Maybe your kid stops playing for two months, why keep paying for it for those two months?

    I'd say GamePass is worth it if it means you are buying fewer games day one.

      There is; Currently around $43 for (Turkey) 12 month Xbox Live Gold

    The $380 is NOT a penalty - it's paying off the Xbox itself that you've got on an interest free payment plan, same as the XBOX Game Pass Ultimate.

      ^^ This. I would have thought this too.

      Much like ending phone contract with handset, you're paying out the handset balance - I would have thought the $380 is the remaining balance on the items (phone and xbox)

      As for xbox game pass ultimate, I have 3 years stacked (or did) for only about $130 - search the forums, there are methods on how to achieve this.
