Any Steelcase Chair Recommendation?

My budget is around $600, and seeing 25% on Steelcase whole site,
Any one knows the big difference btw series 1, series 2 and personality plus(new)?
The personality plus is really in my budget atm.

  • I own a series 2, previously i owned cheap 'gaming' chairs from officeworks etc, they would give me back and shoulder pains but as soon as started to use the series 2 it helped my back pains.

I think the main difference is the way the arm rests work between the series 1 and 2 - the series 1 connects to the seat so when you lean back the arm rests also go up which could cause it to hit the table if you are leaning back.

I dont think i will cheap out on an office chair again to be honest

    • Thanks for the point of series 2,
I have bought personality plus, which is in my budget.

    • Gaming chairs are all marketing really.

The Steelcase chairs I’ve sat in have been amazing, on my wish list to buy one day…

  • Steelcase repairs will be expensive as well, like comparing the repair cost of a cheap car vs that of a BMW.

  • I own a Series 1 with armrests and a headrest and I love it. Highly recommended. I later purchased a Gesture to upgrade but much preferred the Series 1 and so returned the Gesture. On the point of the Series 1 arm rests vs. the Series 2, some YouTube reviewers claim this as a point against the Series 1 because the arms won't recline with you. This is a non-issue to me — you'd have to be really reclining for things to be that out of whack. The one thing I'd say against it is that the head rest is very far back and only really usable when reclining. When sitting up straight it's too far back to be used for support or as a postural reminder.

  • First check your delivery cost. I bought series 1 when it was like $200 cheaper but the shipping itself was $199.

    • Not sure if can put in suv, but I choose pickup already

      • one less thing to worry about
