My son wants to start playing Minecraft so does it ever go on sale or is there a place that sells it cheaper? Happy to wait for boxing day sales if people think that it will go on sale a lot cheaper.

Depends if you want all the hundreds of extra games that come with it, versus the subscription cost.
They don't discount the game anymore, the game is so popular nowadays that discounting won't increase sales revenue. Last time it went on sale was 2019
It is part of Xbox Game Pass too (permanently) so that's also another reason for not discounting the game.

Most schools have a license for Minecraft Education Edition as standard, and free. Your kid's school should be able to tell you what to download and how to log in.

I got it on Switch for $22 at Amazon.
Thanks ppl, will just buy it full price then as it appears that you can buy it cheaper from other places, but they appear to not be as 'legit' sources of keys from people I have asked.
