RedBull Mobile Access 60 for $39 (Usually $75)

60

The Access 60 plan of the RedBull mobile is available for $39 from RedBull Mobile site(the recharge voucher will be valid for 6 months like the normal voucher). You can also get a new SIM card with the voucher.

you will be getting 2 months of unlimited local calling, Text and 8GB of data for $39.

i know it is not as good as the $10 or the $22 deal but it is better than $75.

  • Thanks for the heads up! Will definitely be buying a few of these… Any idea on how long this offer will last?

    • +2

      it says,

Offer valid until the 31st July 2012 or while stocks last. Offer may be withdrawn at any time without notice.

      • Please make sure you have a 850Mhz HSPA+, 900Mhz & 2100Mhz HSDPA compatible phone with Vodafone's networks, you will benefit from the "extra" coverage and speed issue, make sure the phone you are using is capable of the above frequencies in HSDPA not GSM(2G)bands…

  • For data, do they charge for usage at the 1 KB unit -or- what larger unit?

These guys use Vodafone's network, right? :-/

    • Data calculated in 250kb sessions

    • Yep, I think Amaysim is -worse- still, using 1 MB "sessions"

but: Virgin seems to be -honest- dealing, in 1 KB "sessions"

(In -each- case, I'd use the phrase (mini) "data-blocks" for "sessions")

Is: "LiveConnect.com" . -honest- dealing, like Virgin? (what's their "block" size?

      • +1

I think LiveConnected is per kb :)

    • Session rounding is 250kb (edit: sorry zigpy_siva - took me awhile to type this) which is better than the other prepaids if you exclude Virgin and Telstra (easy to do given the cost and very slow downloads I've experienced with Virgin and the exorbitant cost of Telstra). Incidentally - by way of keenish observation I've come to realize that session rounding likely constitutes the dropping out of the mobile data connection which seems to happen about 10 mins after last data download.
Whether at this point the Optus network is better than Vodafone depends entirely on where you live and where you travel. I'm running an Optus sim in one device and a Vodafone (Redbull) sim in another. While I have experienced more call dropouts with the Redbull sim I'm getting at least double and often quadruple the data download speeds and no more or less reliability once a socket is established.
I took up the same Redbull offer as the one above and was lucky enough before the account lapsed to catch the last day of an 'existing customer' offer ('Fashion Week' 365 day plan for $265 instead of 365). Maybe they'll repeat a similar offer at some point instead of the irritating 'pay $365 + $1 for a crappy phone' deal.
As it is I can't argue with unlimited calls + 5GB a month for 22 bucks given the download speeds I've been getting.
      Hope that all helps.

Still the 3 month free deal available, or the $100 Dick Smith voucher. Cash off would be better though.

        • +1

DSE card is just a wishcard - so as good as cash if you actually shop @ woolies/Dan/BigW

        • Fair call.

        • What is this $100 Dick Smith Voucher?

I want to get the 365 day deal from RedBull Mobile.

How does this work? From where do I buy the RedBull SIM/Credit in order to also get the $100 Voucher?

          Thanks.

          EDIT:

          Found it!

In the link given by Steptoe (Strange as I checked the link 5 hours ago, and would swear I did not see the Dick Smiths offer - still I was on an iPhone and it was way down the bottom of the page).

          http://www.redbullmobile.com.au/retentionoffer/

Go through there. You can get $100 off the 365 day deal for $265.
And $50 off the 180 day deal for $149

    • It's the session rounding, not that every page and icon you download is going to be charged to the next higher unit. It matters only if you drop and start sessions often which could be the case if you move around a lot or your train goes into a tunnel.

Also, when you are dealing with such a large quota, your best strategy is actually to leave it connected. I had one of those huge quota SIMs for a month, and with normal usage I could only manage a few hundred MB. Naturally if you are the type to watch a lot of video, you will eat up your quota fast, whatever the rounding.

  • Offer valid until the 31st July 2012 or while stocks last

The SIM Starter Pack and/or recharge voucher must be activated within six months from the date of purchase,

  • lol the price is going up all the time, $10, $22, now $39

    • The other times were not direct from RBM offers. This is direct and not a group buy deal. So yeah

  • The data does not work I got the $10 deal and they tryed twice to fix it and said sorry u can have money back . I suspect voda is just turning it off . I use to have great vodafail at home and now the say network over subscribed will fix next year but dont worry we will still steal your money for no product. So this deal is for phone calls only .

    • Were you using an iPhone?

I should have mentioned - there is an issue that remains with Redbull's proxy server. I varies in it's impact, but you seem to have got the worst case scenario of no data. For me at the outset it was just certain specific web pages not rendering. The workaround is to create a second APN replicating the settings Redbull gave you, but deleting the proxy server settings. If you ever have difficulty rendering a specific page or establishing a socket for a file download, just switch between the two.

  • might want to include unlimited text too

  • Perfect. I was planning to port over with the 365 but this would be better to test out the network in my area.
Getting the 60 day + 365 day (90 day free) = 17 months in total. It works out to be $23 a month.

    • if you get the $365 with the $100 DS gift card, it will get even cheaper

  • so can you buy 6 Access 60 for a total of $234, which gives you 12months at $19.50..

does anyone know if this is allowed?

    • the recharge voucher is valid for 6 months, so you can still get 3 vouchers and enjoy for that price for 6 months(but you have to buy the vouchers and recharge once in 2 months, you can't recharge all at once to top-up the duration as when you recharge with a voucher your old balance is voided…)

But if the offer is extended then you can enjoy it as long as it is there + 6 months…

  • hi. i dont get how do you get Dicksmith gift card. or do u need to buy it? or is it for free!.
