  • Thanks, bought 1.

So.. is this a $1,500 Google Android Wear watch? Ok…

    • Agreed, what a waste.
      Only 50m water resist
Battery probably doesn't even last 20 days like my amazfit

Thanks bought none common sense kicked in

what i heard about this watch is that when it goes obsolete you can have it returned to Heuer who will then replace the movement with a 'standard' watch movement so that it becomes a 'normal' watch… i dont know if that means they replace it with a quartz or auto movement but that was their deal so the watch never becomes old fashioned.

what i heard about this watch is that when it goes obsolete you can have it returned to Heuer who will then replace the movement

Google tells me that just offer a trade in credit of a few hundred bucks on a future tag Heuer connected.
Can't see any reference to getting an actual physical movement fitted.

    • +4

Not true. The last time i had a Tag connected watch fail (battery fault), they had us send it to the local repair centre who deemed it beyond repairing and said Tag would offer a trade-in for credit. The credit was only $500 and had to be used on the purchase of one of two selected watches (not connected, and neither were of interest).

In the end i was able to source an exact battery and repaired their watch myself.

      • How long you had the watch? Under Australia consumer law they have to fix it if within two years.

If it’s out of two years, they gave you $500 credit for a faulty watch, isn’t that a good deal?

Try to trade in a two year old iPhone that does not switch on, see how much they give you….

You did the right thing to fix it if it’s out of warranty.

        • Yes it was out of warranty

      • Was the the first gen? Where did you get the buy the battery and any instructions manual to change it? I have one battery died sitting here with $300 credit. I want to try replace the battery myself

        • +2

Yes it was a first gen and there were no instructions out there i could find. It was a difficult job, and requires some very fine soldering.

I personally an a hobby watchmaker and have a background in electronics so took the chance.

Not i wish i took photos at the time and documented it, I think i lot of people have the same issue.

you were only correct for part of this deal.
this deal was only for generation one Tag Heuer Connected, where you can trade this watch back in and pay another $2500 to obtain their $5000 Calibre 5 automatic watch.

Load a tag Heuer style watch face in a Huawei GT2, save $1550 :)

    The perfect match for NFT
Use your watch to display your highly collectible virtual artworks on your wrist with verified proof of ownership.

    Of course that's a target market :/

    • Why waste money on a GT2, get a knock off from the great motherland of CCP and load a Rolex face on it, you save 70K…ahahaha!!

  • +1

Fark! I thought its the real thing. You had me going for a while there OP.

People are look at this product totally the wrong way……

First of all, lets see…. an Apple watch with steel band cost $1250, this is one is $1500, more or less on par…..

Here comes the important part, High end smart watch like Apple Watch, Fenix…etc are electronic product centric
not as a luxury goods. Tag Heuer on the other hand is a luxury goods company, what they are trying here is to provide some smart watch feature in a luxury watch so you don't have to wear two watches. Those who see people doing that will know how silly that look!!

I would have click the buy button straight away if it is running Wear OS; no one else is making a luxury smart watch!

    • -3

Tag Heuer is not 'luxury' watch brand though
It's poor man's luxury watch at best right?

      • -1

i'm not a fan of heuer at all but they do have some nice pieces that go above $10k

and they have some ok starter pieces for $2k etc.

poor mans luxury would be tissot

        are they omega? no

        • Sort of. Omega and Tissot are under the Swatch brand. I'm not sure if it is the same swatch that made the horrible plastic watches in the 90's.

          • @Spendmore: Though omega and Tissot are in different market segments, despite common parent brand.

            • +1

@SBOB: Yes it's like the Volkswagen group that have a GTI golf and a 911 under the banner.

    • I would have click the buy button straight away if it is running Wear OS; no one else is making a luxury smart watch!

It is running Wear OS right?

      Operating system
      Wear OS by Google

      • Hmm…. didn't saw that!

Rather spend my money on a real watch, or a gshock solar if it has to have a battery in it.

  • +6

Cool the product page shows me the current time
No need to buy the watch, I bookmarked the product page.

  • +2

$1500 on something that will be unusable in a few years time… oof. I wish I had that kind of disposable income to waste on an unnecessary fashion accessory with an expiration date, and I own a Grand Seiko…

  • +5

I'm not against spending $1,500 on a watch but if I do, I'm not going to buy one that will be worthless in a couple of years.

  • at this price, no wonder it's already out of stock…

  • recall the last message, only the steel bracelet version is out of stock. the other bands are still available.

Designed with the smallest details in mind.

Wish they had the big detail in mind, not to use Android Wear

  • AFAIK The E3 will not get the new WearOS update as it's powered by the Snapdragon 3100. It's considered an EoL product hence the huge discount.

  • How long the battery last? 2 days?

  • OOS
