AmEx Says: We're Sorry. We Are Unable to Upgrade Your Card at This Time

I tried to apply 60,000 bonus Qantas Points + $200 back this offer and then amex says We're Sorry. We Are Unable to Upgrade Your Card at This Time. Do you know why I cant upgrade this time?

    It was upgraded a while ago, and I cancelled it last year. Now I can not upgrade; any restrictions period for the upgrade?

    • As always … read the T&C's … think you will find your answer.

      Haven't been with Amex for 8+ years … but back then - if you upgraded, then (either downgraded/cancelled) - there was something like an 18 month exclusion period.

      Esp if you are trying to claim the Qantas bonus points/cashback offer.

      Saying that - think you may find, they'll allow you to upgrade … but just no bonus points/cashback.
      Atleast - that was how it was when I was with them back in the day.

    No. Why would you think Ozbargainers would know? Has Amex been hacked and everything's on the dark web?

    I just rang AMEX to discuss their refusal to upgrade your card and they said it's because you have to many vowels in your name and the card making machine goes buggy when that happens
