vidaXL Furniture Quality, Anyone Bought from Them?

Was just about to buy a solid teak TV unit from vidaXL but now see a lot of negative reviews on productreview.com.au for that brand. Has anyone purchased any of their solid wood products before? Just trying to see if it's all their products that are bad or just certain ones.

The TV unit I'm looking at is supposed to be solid wood (so not MDF/particle board) and comes assembled. They have their products on almost every site, Amazon, Ebay, Catch, OzSale, MyDeal, Kogan etc

Comments seem to be 50/50 but main ones I see that are turning me away are split wood, warped wood, and even the assembled stuff is untreated and not sealed.

    Awful, awful quality.

I bought a VidaXL trellis fence last year to section off a portion of my balcony so that my dogs wouldn't piss on it. The 'fence' was so poorly designed that there was a huge gap underneath that any dog could get past and so flimsy that part of it snapped off a week or so later.

I requested a refund on eBay soon after and they didn't even want me to return it. They just refunded me.

It's not wood but just go for an IKEA tv entertainment unit instead.

    • Sounds like I dodged a bullet! The prices did seem too good to be true. Unfortunately Ikea don't deliver where I am (and most stuff I've seen is particle board anyway).

Good to hear you got a full refund though. Will have to keep looking. Any decent but affordable solid timber indoor furniture places you know of that deliver Australia wide?

      • Sorry. I actually have a custom built in instead

It's MDF/laminate but looks great. If you're willing to spend a lot more money, consider getting a joiner in.

Otherwise, Temple & Webster may have what you're after. They're quite a reliable online furniture store.

        • Oh nice! Yeah there's expensive stuff out there, but only looking for something small around 1m for a small room and <$300 - $400 delivered.

Will give Temple & Webster another look but didn't see much on there that fit the bill the other day.

Yep we bought a storage container (though not solid wood) that supposedly was sturdy enough to double as a bench.

Bought from Amazon but from 3rd party seller.

Tried to return it cos it was flimsy and not as described. 3rd party seller initially refused then said we’d have to pay shipping.

The thing is garbage. Never again

That's a bugga! Sounds like it's best to stay away from them. So hard to find decent affordable furniture these days.

  • I bought an outdoor bench and coffee table that have been fine. Also a small indoor side table that was a bit flimsy but it was cheap, so I expected as much.
