CNHL 1000mAh 7.4V 2S 100c LiPo Battery with Deans Connector $9.24 Delivered @ China Hobby Line

50

Pretty good price for this shipped. They're having discounts and free shipping for Cyber Monday.

Seemingly a more reputable outfit compared to no-name LiPos. Have no personal experience but was looking for some and stumbled upon these.

Quite surprisingly, at this price, these are rated at 100C and up to 5C charging. I have no idea how accurate these claims are, but again, this mob has a name to protect.

They also have quite a few items with discounted prices, but as I don't know the comparable prices for those, I chose to only highlight the one I was familiar with.

  • Are the lipo technology and connectors universal? I just purchased a flyhal gc600 as a Christmas present, which use 7.4V 1000mAh LiPo batteries.

First new era RC, thus guidance appreciated.

There are different types of plugs. This one is a deans (one horizontal tab and one vertical). Then you have XT 30/60/80 connectors. The bigger the battery the bigger connector they usually use.

As far as lipos, they're pretty standard. You have normal ones (4.2v per cell fully charged) and you have high voltage ones (4.35v fully charged) higher voltage ones are usually to get more run time, make sure the motors can handle it though and you'll need a charger that can charge beyond the normal 4.2v per cell. Make sure C rating on the battery is higher than what the motor can pull.

People usually prefer hard cased lipos on rcs, less prone to damage when the batt gets ejected from a tumble. But these are cheap enough and CNHL is a pretty good brand so I say go for it.

You should also get a hobby charger, the usb ones these rcs come with are horrible and slow.

Store the batteries at 50% or so. If they're kept full or empty, they puff up.

The connectors aren't universal, however, I myself bought these for an HBX 16889a Pro which is practically identical to the FC600 under the skin. Last I checked, they both use the Deans connector. 61mm is a hair bigger than the tray size but I reckon it will work. Otherwise, yep, the 1000mAh rating and 2S rating are identical. Except these are marked as 100c, so quite an upgrade (not that it matters to the motor)

If you care about the longevity of your LiPo cells, may I suggest a good charger. The USB powered one that comes in the box will do the job, but won't be doing any favours to your battery.

    • Can you recommend a decent entry level charger. I can only see reviews on hardcore devices

      • I hope others who know better chime in with their suggestions. I'm a noob at all this modern RC stuff. Only got back into it after 3 decades.

Anyway, as far as I understand it, one of the best bang-for-your-buck class of chargers is one of the clones of the SkyRC Imax B6, which has been around for years. Usually found on eBay between $30-40. They're not the most user friendly and kinda clunky honestly, but it does the things you'd expect of a good charger like balance charging, charging to storage level, quick charging (if your battery supports it), and so on. There are models with in-built power supplies so you just plug it in, while others need a brick. There are those that you can buy without the brick and then use an old laptop brick that outputs what it needs.

That's about the extent of what I know regarding chargers… The others I've seen were a little too rich for me, considering the car I got is so cheap. The charger purchase was mainly to prevent accidents with Lipo and making sure the batteries last as long as they should.

May I also suggest this FB group

I've asked so many questions and so many people are super happy to answer in detail.

Enjoy the FC600 in good health!

  • is this a hobbyking clone

  • Are there any other good places to buy these or a similar battery? China Hobby line are sold out. I just bought an HBX 16889A Pro but it only comes with one battery so looking to get a second. Thanks!
