13.3" - 14" Laptops That Cost Less than $1,000

So I'm looking for a small and light professional laptop that won't hurt my wallet and back. Been using a Metabox 15.6" laptop for work and I'm sick of carrying it around and also the power brick. Both also use up a lot of space on my backpack too.

Specs wise, at least 16GB ram and has USC-C charging and display are a must so I can just plug it into the docking stations at work. Touchscreen is optional but not required.

I was doing some research and found the following:

1) Lenovo 13.3" Laptop ThinkPad L13 G2 Intel Core i5 1135G7 512GB SSD 16GB Win10P - $897

2) HP ProBook 635 Aero G7 - $935

3) Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 4 - $926

Which of the 3 would you recommend? Or if there are others I should also look out for. I know Christmas is around the corner but thought I could start having a look around.

Thanks!!

    Go for L13.

If you can find an AMD Ryzen with same price go for that.

  • All three are pretty similar. The cheaper Thinkpads aren't particularly light (1.6kg for my E14) but it's not heavy either - not having to carry the charger back and forth is quite useful too. I've been happy with my Ryzen Thinkpad E14 for the last 2.5 years - no dramas and works well as a basic productivity machine.

Lenovo Thinkbook series worth considering well if there's one that will fit in that price range. Bigger trackpad, smaller bezels and some models come with a nicer display.

Are the workplace docks Thunderbolt or just USB-C?

    • Theyre Dell thunderbolt docks.

  • Im also looking for similar spec.
I'm leaning on HP since it's much lighter. But it pricey

Edit: How about this one? https://www.centrecom.com.au/huawei-matebook-d-156-fhd-i5-11…
    Is Huawei any good?

    Thank

    • Seems to be a 15 inch laptop so already too big!
