Stock Trading App/Website

Good morning dear Australia! :)

I arrived 4 months ago to Australia, already discovered the Raiz app, which I really like!

Nevertheless, I would like to do some stock trading (low volume) and in Europe we had an app called "TradeRepublic". The trading fees were incredibly low.
Just wanted to ask if you have something comparable over here or probably further recommendations for stock trading.

Have a nice day!

CommSec is probably most used although far from cheapest. On OzBargain we have "related stores" when we group similar stores together. Check out Related Stores for CommSec (scroll to the bottom) which gives you a list of sites / apps that do stock trading here.

    • Thanks, I will check this out!

Thanks, but my mom told me that I was too fat with 110 kg and 200 cm of height. But at least I broke the world record.

I use Stake - $3 trades and that price gets reduced by $1 for every other person you refer, or down to $0 (for 12 months) if you transfer your portfolio to them.

App is quite easy to use, I use it multiple times per day.

  • anyone with cmc and do you know if they give easy to read/follow tax report each year, and we just plug in all the numbers into ato website?
even better if they send the info to ato (prefill)
    thanks

    • Sharesies is really good from my experience - easy to use website and app and simple fee structure.
I'm really surprised that they are not more well known.

  • What markets are you looking to trade?

    • Mainly US/AUS and probably European markets.

Stake has quite cheap brokerage for AU ($3) and free brokerage for US.

SelfWealth is another option but higher brokerage and you can also trade HKEX (on top of AU and US).

Neither allow trading for Euro markets though.

I would steer clear of Commsec in general because of their rip off trading fees, I think you can sign up to use their analysis tools though (which I think will be free).

Don’t forget to use a referral from OzBargain if you go with either of the above!

After a quick Google CMC allows trading for the “Euronext” market as well as AU, Canada, UK, US, HK and Japanese markets… maybe I should look into them more…

  • Moved from Stake to CMC. Stake only alllows you to fund and hold through their app and at their FX rate. (funds have to be pre-loaded before trading - but they do have instant funding with a monthly subscription (Stake Black - with all the bells & whistles)). CMC take funds (+% buffer to cover FX moment) from your linked cash account at the time of the trade.

    • This is for overseas trades obviously
