Give your Moscow mule a festive kick these holidays

      • +12

Moscow mule made with vodka my friend

        • +6

          Name checks out

          • @[Deactivated]: Hehe, but to be frank, Moscow Mule was invented in Manhattan during/around WW2.
yet it is my favorite drink, and watching it being made in a good bar is amazing.

      • +3

That really isnt a reason for negging the post. Its a good deal whether you like the product or not.

    $11 for a 10 pack at Woolworths.

    • +4

Even for the spiced ginger one? I've got the diet one in my cart
Edit: yep all flavors $11 for 10.

      • +3

Didn't realise it was all flavours. Mango and spiced for me.

      • +4

        Nice . Probably a better quantity….

    • +1

Thanks - might try this first before I go all 24 pack on it

    • Thank you!!!

    • +1

I took your sage advice and they substituted it with regular flavour :shakesfists:

    • +5

How much have you imagined what arse tastes like?

      • +1

A lot, people seem to like to chow on it.

        • Why imagine when you can have it daily?

      • +5

no need to image, he's a tigers supporter.. would be used to eating it.

    • chefs kiss

Diet ginger beer also on sale!

    • +2

      I want diet spiced ginger

      • +1

Have you tried the diet ginger bear? I find it spicer than the normal ginger beer

        • No, I haven't. I haven't tried the spiced ginger beer yet either. I've only tried the standard ginger beer. I love the sound of cinnamon being added to it though. I'm just not keen on too much sugar.

        • Saxbys diet has a decent ginger taste, but Bundaberg diet just tastes like water

  • +1

Still got 10 left from last year :p

  • +11

Damn 40gs of sugar in each one, they should look into a diet version of these..

    • And artificial sweeteners are a "healthy" alternative? There are worse things then calories.

      • +8

Much healthier than 40g of sugar

        • +2

It’s not that simple. I’ve been skeptical of fake sugar for a while. I saw some recent research that found that your body reacts to it like it’s sugar but without the sugar to process and it can lead to problems (sorry I have a pretty crap memory but you can look it up).

Personally I avoid fake sugar, I don’t think we understand it properly yet. Just eat less sugar. And write to Bundaberg and tell them to put less sugar in the drinks. Probably going to get a “No” on that because they are a sugar company.

          • @GeneralSkunk: It's not that recent, a couple of years old now. Functionally it's saying different 'sugars' (there's no real 'fake' sugar) peak at different times on our tongue, often being much sweeter for shorter periods.

Thus, all the alternative sugars are balanced to replicate the flavour/duration of regular sugar, but if your body isn't receiving that sugar there will be problems - metabolic, diabetic or intestinal usually.

Everyone always puts in their 2c about artificial sweeteners but can never cite a peer reviewed article that confidently shows them to have any significant detrimental effects. A sure sign of knowing absolutely bloody zero on the topic is when they dump all artificial sweeteners in one bucket and claim they all behave in a certain way or cause a particular issue etc - when there are a good number of entirely dissimilar compounds to pick from, and they're all metabolised completely differently.

… Sugar on the other hand, has volumes written on it, and the issues it causes.

        Yes. Bad grammar.

I don't want that aspartame shit, but i'd take a low-sugar low-sweetner mixed version. 5g sugar, 5g xylitol/erythritol, nice and dry. If only soft drinks came like this.

      • Aspartame tastes 10x better to me, xylitol/erythritol upsets my stomach, it must be genetic which one people prefer as there are foods that taste different to different people like coriander tastes like soap to some people.

  • +2

I love the taste of these.. but the amount of sugar……

  • Am I the only one who puked Team America style after drinking this flavour?

  • Love the Bundaberg range but the sugar is killing me…

    • Ever wondered why everything used to taste better when they weren’t required to put the sugar and sodium on the packaging

      • No

      • +1

If anything, here in aus we've been trending toward more sugar the past few decades (Americanising, over there they call chocolate "candy" so go figure). Pretty sure the regular chocolate blocks in the sweets isle use to have less sugar than today, I definitely recall cadbury getting sweeter at some point.

And FWIW, plenty of people like dry drinks (alcoholic and soft) unrelated to any health concerns. I find full-sugar soft drinks too sweet, but sometimes buy the half-sweetness schweps ones.

    • They need to put all that sugar from the cane fields somewhere

  • Got one in cart, thanks

    Is this festy or festive?

Curious about the taste … How is this one different to normal ginger beer ? Does it taste more like root beer ?

    • +2

This tastes as if there was just cinnamon and nutmeg in it and no ginger. I like the normal ginger beer but didn't like this at all as there is not even a hint of ginger taste in it.

  • +4

I'm a fan of the spiced ginger beer

Combine this with cloudy apple juice and I find it makes a non alcoholic knock off of fireball + apple juice

  • I like Ginger Beer, but, can someone tell me what the 'spice' is? Is it a chilli-like flavour (ie hot mouth) ?

    • +2

      Cinnamon and nutmeg

  • +1

Festive flavours of Cinnamon and Cloves.

  • How's the use-by-date on these drinks? The last one I got, (Pepsi Max 12x1L and consume them for Chrissie) the due date is Mar 2023 and the flavour is mostly gone out of it. Very disappointing indeed. I was gonna refund it but how? It's too darn heavy and will be cumbersome I presume.

    • +1

FWIW, artificially sweetened sodas (particularly aspartame mixes like pepsi max and coke zero) seem to go bad much quicker than traditional sugary mixes.

I have no idea why, but a few years ago I had a bunch of old sodas of various kinds laying around and decided to taste test them, and all the aspartame ones were bland and flavorless, and all the sugary ones were okay.

  • 40 grams of sugar, yeesh

  • These are so nice, but the sugar content is just way too high unfortunately.

  • S&S isn't an option

  • +1

    fark, already OzBargained

and yes, I miss the days when their ginger beer actually tasted of ginger
