Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra - Broken Screen

So unfortunately, even with a rugged UAG case, my nine-month old Galaxy S22 Ultra has met its match after landing onto an uneven surface of pebbles.

Pictures here

I believe the display itself is broken, not just the glass? Samsung will charge $490 to fix it.

What are my options here? No insurance sadly.

Put it in a bowl of rice

Or maybe a bowl of pebbles…

  • I like how you have a photo of your next phone that will get a broken screen on your current phone with a broken screen..

You've got a broken screen and a ad pops up on your phone to buy a new Samsung flip phone.
    They've got to be kidding
Only would this happen with SamSmug and their bloatware .

Why people still buy their shit is beyond me

Not defending Samsung, but I'm pretty sure any phone that fell screen first onto a pebble would suffer the same fate.

      • welcome to the internet. you see all sorts of people here. -_-

      • You missed the point

        • There was no point. It just seemed like you were using any excuse to pile shit on Samsung.

The part about the AD on the screen

The part about the AD on the screen

              That's Samsung's webpage!

                @bobbified: exactly

                • @jizmo: So it's Samsung's fault that OP decided to go to their webpage on a broken phone?

      So angry…about a phone. Huh

LOL. It's not an ad, champ. He's literally on the Samsung website….

    • If you're comparing it to an iPhone samsung manufacture 90% of all iPhone screens including 14. And literally dozens of other manufacturers screens.

  • Nokia just released the 8210 4G, that would be your best idea for an upgrade

Whatever you do, get yourself a case with a screen cover next time.

But your options are to either pay for the repair, or to sell the damaged phone on Ebay/Marketplace and buy another.

  • Get it fixed then get a screen protector.

  • Did you purchased it with Amex?

1/2 Price used screens available if your willing to put up with small dot on edge. But no broken glass .

And from photos lcd is broken so glass only replacement no go. Unfortunately no copies available yet so original screens still cost nearly 400 bux

Screen protector would made no difference its hit on corner frame causes damage..

Pay Samsung $490 to have it fixed correctly with OEM parts or find someone cheaper to do with 3rd party parts.

    • Or DIY with 50% chance of success?

      • Unless you have done it yourself before, I would more like to say 10% chance of success.

  • Is this a trick question?

  • They still retail close to 2k dont they? $480 for an official screen replacement with warranty is decent

  • Looks like Samsung will ship the phone to a 3rd party to repair. Is this common practice? Should I just get it fixed for cheaper locally?
