PCPP List for a 5600/B550/650w 80w+ Gold Build with Asrock RX6600 for $949 or with 3060ti Vision for $1379

Hi all, saw a lot of traction on the several prebuilts posted here today and saw some people talking about 5600 upgrades and expressing concerns about upgradability on these prebuilds. Was orginally going to a PCPP comparison to check the prices but stopped half way and spent some more time on PCPP and got this build down, obviously a bit more expensive than prebuilts but you get better quality and the upgradability down the line (I hope).

The list should include some of the best prices there are, i tried to kept to as few stores as possible to cut down on shipping, pcpp is terrible for that and many prices seems wrong/items not actually in stock so its more hassle than I expected. Hope this may help a few people out but do let me know if I messed up somewhere as Im not a desktop person:

  • CPU: 5600 - 199$ amazon nuff said here. 6c12t stuff and better than 5600g in everything except no igpu and just tiny bit less perf than a 5600x

  • Mobo: MSI B550m-p gen 3 149$@ pcbyte. should be cheapest board in stock that support 5600 out of box. Cant see any reviews online on this rather obscure board. Feature sets seem pretty complete at least

  • Ram: Kesington fury 2*8gb 3200mhz CL16 @69$ scorptec. simple ram with decent timings

  • storage: teamgroup mp33 512 GB $55 @ scorptec. 350tbw on these 512gb ones seems pretty fire. speed is kinda slow but its cheap

  • gpu option1: ASRock challenger D rx6600 299$ @ pcbyte. its cheap and offers good frames for $ even if a good 15% (or is it more) slower than 6600xt

  • gpu option 2: Gigabyte vision OC rtx 3060 Ti $729 @ pcbyte. obviously not best price but its a triple fan mid range white card and like only 30$ more expensive than cheapest current offerings

  • case: Silverstone Precision PS15 RGB MicroATX Mid Tower $59 @scorptec. cheap and you get three fans to go -2 rgb intake & 1 black exhaust

  • psu: Fractal Design Ion Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular atx 119$ @scorptec. a tier in the LTT tierlist and even if its just gold should be far better than prebuilt stuff
