    Scottish Cookbook

    Mmmmmmm homemade Macca's

    • Nothing about Maccas is Scottish. The founders may have shared a Scottish clan name (of which I am part of the Graham Clan), but they were born in Manchester England and raised in the states. Please don't imply 3rd grade American food is the same as traditional Scottish dishes (even though this book is a little off). Scottish food is great food and modern Scottish food is somewhat weird. I go to Scotland often (pre-covid at least) and even after 15hrs of heavy drink, people won't eat that shite.

Apologies that my attempt at humour triggered you.

I'm 50% Scottish FWIW. I have family in Edinburgh. That's why I'm here. You know, deep pockets - short arms sort of thing.

modern scottish cuisine > take any food > add batter > deep fry > success!!! :P

    Thanks for the list OP

  • Apology if this was asked before, is there a way to read these without a kindle?

    • +2

Yes. Many other ways. Google it.

    • I have been reading for years via the Kindle iOS app on my iPhone/iPad.

    • Just install the kindle app on one of your devices (Android, iOS, Mac, PC).

      There's the "Kindle cloud reader".

Use a web browser. Go to read.amazon.com, and log in with your Amazon account credentials. This works for AU Amazon accounts too.

Note that this may not work if you use an uncommon web browser, or if your web browser is not up-to-date.

Scottish Cookbook is a little off (well a lot), but I'm sure people will still enjoy the dishes. I am Scottish / Russian / Aussie and I'm basing this on what was passed down to me. I do suggest, if you get the chance (should be able to buy from a specialty butcher), to try the dish that people freak out about, Haggis. It's a morning dinner served with a Scottish breakfast (google it) and it took me 2 decades to try it (psychology barrier) and its amazing. Haggis and tattie scones are two things I strongly recommend everyone give a shot and best served with a full Scottish Breakfast

  • Thanks for the list Wuman

  • good list - thank you!

  • A Time For Color: A Book About Joy is $4.46

    • The colour is now a rosy pink. As in a $5 dollar note

      • it should be free, I refuse to pay $5 for a book

  • "Microsoft Office 365" is no longer free, $12 on AU site, 8USD on US site.
