Actually Useful Cheap/Free Courses/Certificates

Whenever I see free or cheap courses, training, certificates, etc come up as deals, the comments always point out that they aren't worth doing and won't get you a job.

I generally agree with this. However, are there any free/cheap courses/completion certificates you've done that you think have been good value?

As an example, for me I think a free course on Writing in Plain English I did has been the most useful.

Any MS Excel course, especially the advanced features of excel. Can be extremely handy in multiple jobs.

RSA and other mandatory Certs for the industry you are targeting. White card, food handling etc. If you don’t have them, it is a hassle to get you in the door.

MS office skills, especially word, excel, outlook, are essential, it is handy to know project. General computer literacy is important, I still occasionally find colleagues who get mixed up in the file system, or don’t know what to do if they get a file from a program they don’t have.

For IT stuff there are endless free resources.
Same if you want to build web sites or write programs. Coding is one of the few high paying jobs left you can get by demonstrating your skill rather than needing degrees/qualifications.

Specialist vehicle license. If you can drive a bus there is always work. I’m pretty sure the same is true for a forklift.

At the more exotic end, if you can get security clearances, that is a ticket to employment.
