Re-SOLVED Version #2 - The Only way to email eBay!

Hello

The SOLUTION has been considerably changed !!!

And it's kind of confusing?

Firstly - this will not work anymore [email protected]

You can only email ebay directly if you REPLY to an eBay Chat Transcript email which you have received previously.
That is literally the only way to email them…

If you try to use the email address on its own in a new email (from that Chat Transcript email which is [email protected])…. it will not work.

This is bizarre…

I just asked the guys on live chat and they explained this to me and I tested both ways - so can confirm that I finally have a real solution.

So yeah - that's some quirky stuff right there.

ciao

  • That's in 90s, try the chat

no, it was fairly recent for me (not the 90's :P)

      I explained why I don't always want chat/phone.

Go check on your send items box and try find it 😉

Sometimes I hate chat too, but emails are hard to deal with when you got millions of customers.

Amazon/ EBay chat are fairly reasonable compared to PayPal tho.

        • OP rather wait 6 hours on the line instead of using the chat. He bloodyyy explaained it, pauline!

        • Well i've been talking to both eBay and Amazon chat/phone recently and they're much better than they used to be.

Though you still get useless people who clearly don't understand what you are saying - 35-50% of the time

          It's progress at least!

      • Nothing stopping you copying chat transcript contents for your records if needed.
Unsure about eBay but many companies chat sessions give you the option of sending the transcript to email

        • While you are correct - I do already do that too… that's not the same as emailing them directly.

I've been buying and selling on eBay for 19 years with thousands of transactions. I've used chat once to resolve a $1 FVF issue.

Why would you need to establish regular email communications with eBay especially in 2022?

things go wrong - count you're blessing you've been lucky - not everyone is.

Maybe you should go get a lotto ticket?

For some things I'd rather email it (rather than chat/phone) and let them send it to the right person and wait for them to get back to me - plus I've got it in writing then.

This is the exact reason they don't want you to email.

I hear that… similarly - why else would they limit the chat box to how many dozen characters???? So infuriating

  • I've found the most effective way to contact eBay is via Facebook Messenger

    • you know I've never really used fb like that - but that's a good idea!

    [email protected] is the answer

  • Good to see you found the email addresses. I used to do that years ago, let me know if it still works now. It's one of the most direct way to get proof that you have tried to contact them about issues. Anyway, just yesterday I filled out an online form to contact them the later I guess I can reply them via email

  • isnt it just [email protected]

  • Hey guys… see the updated title post
