What to Do with Old TV (Broken but Still Works Kinda)

Taking delivery of a new tv after my sony hx850 started ghosting and lost some backlight int he middle etc.
So question is what to do with the old TV?
Any disposal or recycling options it barely watchable but 1/4 of the right screen has ghosting and there's a bit of brightness loss in the middle 1/3.

But more in general what's the go for older tv's or when upgrading/replacing old set's. Even listed for free on FB/Gumtree no bites etc.

Ring your local council and ask them about recycling.

Makes sense as a lot of Harvey Normans sell e-waste.

Council hosts a bi-annual Household Chemical Cleanout and e-waste event which accepts a large variety of chemicals and e-waste for free. Council also has two Community Recycling Centres that open every weekend, accepting common household problem waste for free. Both are open to everyone and proof of residence is not required. A full list of what is accepted at each is on the table below.
