Somewhat mixed reviews, but at this price I think i'll take a chance.
    Much cheaper than elsewhere.

  • Harsh reviews - I'm not buying.

Amazon UK has 1,252 reviews and a 4.5* average rating. What reviews are you reading?

  • "Dual sensors measure food & oven temperature as you cook"
So does this come with 2x Long 14.5cm probes one for the food and another for the oven?

    • +4

Dual Sensors in the single probe

      • Thanks

Will buy and tell everyone "get that up ya" then give it to them

    Great stocking stuffer. Thanks!

Only goes up to 200c unfortunately. Can't be used for pizza ovens.

    • +3

What are you cooking in a pizza oven that you'd need to probe?

      • +8

        Pizza

If he is using a thermometer to cook pizzas, then time to just buy $5 dominoes

          • +1

@BatmanAU: Well if you want a 1/2 decent pizza in a proper home pizza oven, preheating and checking the oven temp is key. Temperature is everything when it comes to making pizza. I'm using an infra-red thermometer. A probe to just mount inside the oven vicinity will be very nice.

  • For $19 it's worth a shot thanks op

  • Gotta cook a turkey this year for the first time in forever, so well timed deal!

    • You'll need to grab one quickly, before that bird has flown

  • Thanks will be good to test the temperature of my oven baked shoe with fairy floss in it

  • +2

How would you use it? Would you put the probe in the turkey and then cook it? Or only after?

    • By the looks of the metal cable you put it in the turkey and throw the turkey in the oven

    • With these thermometers you put the probe into the part of the meat you don't want to overcook (i.e., breast, steak) and wait for it to reach temp, leaving the probe in while it cooks. Regular thermometers are for taking out and poking to get a single reading.

      • Does the device stay in the oven aswell…? It doesnt look long enough to place it outside

        • +1

plastic and LCD in the oven?! No. Goes on wall, or benchtop if under-bench oven. Some models have a magnetic back.

        • +1

Nah, stays outside the oven door. Attach it to the door handle or clip it on to something cool.

The device will have batteries so you do not want it getting excessively hot.

  • Why not, paid 70$ for the last one.

    • What's your review?

Main problems seems to be the probes, they go bad, not possible to replace probes, also connector for probe is poor and responsible for transient failures and improper readings
Unit shows HHH (temperature too high, when the thermometer is at room temperature)
      Maximum temperature of 200C

      • It wasn't this one, bought one from the house for 90$ never worked. Bought a well reviewed one from Amazon and it's pretty decent it was 70$. For 20$ I'll give it a try..

  • Had one and was flimsy and very slow to read temp. Got a inkbird one now and it’s a lot better

Any reccs for one to keep in the oven?
