It has Adventure World, Water World and Wildlife world. Adventure world are dry rides. Its small but good for kids. For water world , express would be helpful on hot days. Long queue. Most people spent most of the time in Water world. Wildlife is ok. Not too great. Aussie wildlife only. Pretty small.

I highly recommend checking out the Gumbaya World website

Nope sorry, can't remember the URL. Unfortunately I have no means to search for it.

You could start a new thread asking whether anyone knows what it is?

The ticketing is a little confusing, because during off-peak times on Weekdays only the wildlife section is open. But during the summer holidays the whole park is open and there is only 1 ticket to buy.

The express q is the classic theme park "fast track" add on which lets you skip the ride/slide queues several times.
There is also cabanas / day beds / animal encounters / surfing simulator add ons which are all optional too.

The biggest attraction will be the 2 new rollercoasters opening before Christmas which are sure to have massive queues to ride.

I've been to the park a few times in the past so I can assist with other questions, but perhaps give the website a decent read too.

    • thanks, have tried reading the website pretty confusing.

Been to this park a number of times.

Beware, during summer, blowflies will eat you alive. Adventure Park Geelong is not so bad but at Gumbuya, it's the worst.

Water world is the best. They have artificial surfing platform and giant wave pool that are awesome. Water slides are decent. Lazy river is the best. You could easily spend 3/4 of the park opening times here. Yes, get there early.

On dry area, they are about to have 2 new rides (extreme rollercoasters). Haven't tried it but those dry area park are mainly for kiddies (imho).

Then there is the zoo. It's a mini zoo but you could feed kangaroos here and there is an aviary as well. Otherwise, meh.

Cabana is a must if you are doing water play and got big family. Express Qs imho is a waste of money.

    • is it even worth trying to go to Adventure Park?

      • +1

Nope, it's just a fluke that it's been open nearly 30 years and is the biggest park in Victoria.

Only worth it if it's your closest park out of the big 3 (Adventure Park, Funfields and Gumbuya). and/or you have primary school aged children with you as there are no real thrill rides to cater for teens or young adults at AP. Better off going to Funfields or Gumbuya if you fall into that category.

Adventure Park is big. Really big. At Christmas, they have light shows at night and although I didn't go to one last year, I was told it was beautiful. It has mini golf and more kid appropriate rides (which are meh). I think it has a lake where you can do paddling but the big thing about Adventure Park is space. Toilet amenities are horrible and ancient but the new area (and the new Cabana) are nice. They have more water rides I think than Gumbuya. It also has lazy river too but I think Gumbuya is better.

Out of the three, my vote goes for Adventure Park, Gumbuya, then Funfield. Funfield is the smallest of the three but has more thrilling rides. Gumbuya is for variety and cater for bigger kids/adult but since I like space most, Adventure Park is my favourite (less blowflies vs Gumbuya).

Gumbuya is owned by I think 3 conglos who continue to invest in it which is why it's getting better and better each year.

One more thing to add, you can buy tix at discounted rate at RACV.

      https://www.racv.com.au/travel-experiences/things-to-do/attr…

      • Thanks for that!

      • Been trying to get this, but somehow it says cannot find membership or something. Checked all details were correct too

        • The form works for me so might need to contact RACV. Also keep in mind the tickets can’t be used until January 18.

  • Every time we go Gumbuya we skip the animals.
Lazy river is the best out of the 3 water parks.

      we skip the animals.

      Do they enjoy it?

7 people went missing from there last summer.

Believed to have been eaten alive by blowflies.

  • Did gumbuya park rebrand? Used to love the quad bikes and the metal coaster that you'd cruise around a section of the park on.

    • Yes, a few years ago they redeveloped it.

    • Yeah it was purchased by new owners in 2016 then a new park built in 2017. All the old attractions including the quad bikes and the toboggan were excluded from the new park and abandoned.

  • Does anyone know how to get discounted ticket to Gumbuya?
