Unless you want a physical catridge, the Xenoblade 2 expansion pass contains this content. Usually $45, often $30 when discounted at the nintendo eshop. About 4 - 5 gb download.

    • i thought this physical version included the base game too?

      • +2

No it only has the standalone dlc content, not the base game

  • was thinking of ordering but cant decide

  • +2

10 hr standalone DLC is not worth it, better of getting XB3 for nearly the same price.

Actually, XB3 is 60 bucks right now.

    • +2

I already own all the other 3 also i have heard its about 20 hours long

      • 1, 3 and X?

        • 1, 2 and 3.

          • @Lund Eleven: Responding with your alt account?

            • @sss333: Nah, I just assume they know that there's a number between 1 and 3.

              • @Lund Eleven: So you're pretending X doesn't exist?

Missing out on a good game.

Since this is just DLC of 2 do the remaining 3 games would be 1, 3 and X

                • @sss333: On the Switch? Yes.
As a numbered entry in the series? Yes.
In the canon of the ones listed above? Yes.
In all of the press material that continually referred to “completing the trilogy”? Yes.
In "all the other 3"? Yes.

                  • @Lund Eleven: Ok so your pretending it doesn't exist, your loss.

                    • +1

@sss333: No, it exists, just not if you have any reading comprehension.

This is a standalone DLC, so HOW would 2 not be one of the remaining three games? Your argument should be that there are 4 remaining games, not that 2 is not one of them.

                      • @Lund Eleven: So you finally got my original point, good work

                        • @sss333: See reasoning above, your original point was bad and ignored all context clues.
People will play X when it doesn't require a Wii U anymore, it's a good game, but it's not part of the trilogy.

                          • @Lund Eleven: Ok, so you want people not to acknowledge it's existence and seem to want Nintendo to already port it only one gen later despite the fact they said it won't be financially viable instead of spending money on new games, interesting point of view.

                            • @sss333: As part of the trilogy? Yes, because it's separate.
Yes, like almost every other Wii U exclusive.
They have not said that, every Xenoblade game on Switch has sold better than any previous game monolith soft has made, considering how compatible Wii U ports are with Switch, it's easy money, the exact opposite of not financially viable.

The thing that made it hard until now was that they were already working on 2 (which was massively successful) while working on Zelda, then they were busy porting 1 and working on 3, (which were also massively successful), while also working on Zelda and a new IP.

                              • @Lund Eleven:

"Personally speaking, I'd love to play the game on the Switch, but it would be really difficult to make it," Takahashi told USGamer. When asked why it would be such a problem, he simply laughed and replied "Money. It's a massive game. Re-creating it would be really difficult."

That doesn't sound like easy money to me, also if you look at game credits they've worked on a lot more than you mentioned.

But keep insisting it doesn't exist to support your odd narrative you want to go on about.

                                • @sss333: That's literally my point?

Them saying it was "too expensive was back in 2018, at least 18 months before the release of XBC Definitive, only a month after the release of Torna.

At that time they were working on Splatoon 3, Animal Crossing and Zelda and a brand new IP.

They were spread too thin to dedicate money to an additional project.

Every time they release a Xenoblade game for the switch their profits soar.

According to Kanpo (official Japanese government gazette), Monolith Soft’s profit for the fiscal year ending March 2021 was 1.17 billion yen, an increase of 138.2% over the previous fiscal year which was also a 78.8% increase in profit over that years previous fiscal year (ending March 2020).

During this period, Monolith Soft worked on the development of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition and assisted on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as an unknown new Fantasy IP.

Point is, that information of it being too expensive is OLD and comes from a time when they were stretched far too thin to branch off yet another team.

                                  • @Lund Eleven: Have you seen how long TotK has taken and you still want them to port a game that isn't even a generation old and spend time and money on that? Clearly it isn't an easy task and will still be expensive, even if it makes money it won't be as much, Xenoblade DE sold less than 2 and 3 because it was a port, X will sell less and again and will be much more expensive, it might make money now but still isn't the most profitable option.

        • +2

geez you guys need to get a life and stop arguing over something so fickle.

This is literally just sad now.

  • Will this work on au console? Does it save import?

    • +1

It's a cartrige so yes, it will work.

      • +1

I mean recognise AU xc2 save

        • Yes the cart will work, HOWEVER I am not sure the DLC code will be compatible if you have an australian copy of the basegame.
