Is The Kmart Dehydrator Good or Should I Try an Air Fryer?

Hi
We want to dehydrate various foods occasionally . Kmart sells this for $55:

Are they any good?

I’ve read that an air fryer can also be used but have no experience with them.

Suggestions?
Thank you

Use your existing oven for occasion when you want to dehydrate foods.

An example from google search about using an oven for dehydrating food is:

My brother in law has the Kmart dehydrater , works really well , recommend . Air fryers , I have no idea !

  • I tried the Kogan one which was plastic like this. Didn't like it, wish I just paid extra for a metal one. I could have seen myself getting into it, making jerky to eat erry day.

    • Is this the Kogan one you tried https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-6-tray-food-dehydrator-ti…?

What specifically didn't you like about it?

No mine didn't look like that. What I didn't like was that it took a very long time to use and didn't really dehydrate well. I'm guessing the big metal ones that cost hundreds might take a long time too but would work properly. But for all I know stye all work just as well as each other.

        • Thanks for the info 👍

  • I have the kmart airfryer (looks like a benchtop oven) which has a dehydrate function. I'm curious about the power draw for running at 55 degrees for 4-8 hours.
