How Much Is This Used PC Worth?

Hi all,

I was looking to buy a 4K gaming machine to connect to my TV and I found a second hand pc and I'd like to know how much it's worth.
Also, what do you think about the parts? Will this machine have difficulty with 4K 60fps in the near future?

How about 123456 and $,and . in the right spots?

      • $2,345.67 to be accurate!

edit: According to camelcamelcamel it is
        $330 CPU
        $100 Watercooler
        $230 Mobo
        $130 SSD
        $50 HDD
        $820 GPU
        $100 Case
        $150 PSU
        $40 Fans
        $90 Windows10 Pro
        = $2,040 in USD —> AUD $2,971

So it's AU$3,000 as Brand New, not sure what he paid for it, but think he paid under $4k for it. So in its current condition you can say it is Used, and with the new-gen products coming out now, you can reduce its price by a third. So $3k x0.67 = $2,010. So yeah I think it is a decent buy at $2000, anything cheaper like $1,700 and its impulse buy territory, but wouldn't go above $2,300 point. He might not appreciate this price to be honest, and seems to be a good selection of parts.

        • Thank you so much for that my good sir. I appreciate it.

You can spec it here to get an idea of brand new cost: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/

Then work backwards from there based on age and warranty on key parts.

    • Thanks, some of the parts weren't there. I think it ended up being around $3.5K to $4K.

What do you think about my other questions?

      • If you're asking if an RTX 3080Ti 12GB can do 4K60 gaming then wonder if you have done any research at all. Yes, it can. Fairly easily and even more so with DLSS.

        • Thanks. My question was more around future proofing. But also generally what do you think about the system as a whole?

          • @DontNeedThis: Depends what you define as future proofing. The 3080Ti is already superseded by the 4080 which has ~50% higher performance. It's an endless cycle.

It'll do you fine for a few years but eventually newer titles that push boundaries higher will need to have reduced settings.

      • Make sure you compare the price of the 3080ti to what they're going for in deals on ozbargain, pricing can be a bit wild.

Also, what PSU is in it? Most of the parts sound good though. 5900X is massive overkill for gaming though and the 3080ti has no benefits over the 12GB 3080.

        • Thanks for the insights. The psu is Corsair SF750 SFX Platinum Modular 750W

          Isn't this particular 3080ti a bit different?

I'd want to know why they are selling what appears to be a pretty decent PC.

One of those people that upgrade every six months?

    • That's exactly the reason.

  • How much are they asking for it?

    • +1

Asked me to make an offer

      • That tells me they don't know what it's worth or they just don't care about getting a decent price for it. My feeling is the latter given they aren't using it to effective EOL or even close.

Offer them $1000 and see if they take it. Second hand after all.

        • Lol offer them $1k 😂 can barely find a 3080ti used for $1k..

        • +1

Yeah I think that's pushing it.

  • Will this machine have difficulty with 4K 60fps in the near future?

No, but depends on the game and other settings.

    I would value it at around $1500 - $2000

  • +1

$1500 would be a good price

    • +1

Lol that would be an incredible price. It has a 3080ti. The gpu alone is probably worth around that

      • I found a second hand pc and I'd like to know how much it's worth

but it is used, I checked Ebay and used sold prices are around $800-900, Even my used RTX3090 is cheaper than $1500

      • Agreed 3080ti are going second hand for $1k

    • Thanks

    $999
