Tonight i dine on turtle soup

Better off paying $10 more and getting the physical you can share and keep for ever.

I'm sure JB would price match as well

Also in regards to getting your arcade memories back this isn't that collection with the older arcade versions.
This is the updated one from the same creators for Scott Pilgrim vs the World beat em up game.
    That version is this one

    • Better off paying $10 less and getting it cheaper, and so you don't have to worry about damage or theft of a physical copy. And, so you don't have to swap out cartridges to play.

I don't get why this comment comes up at every digital deal. You don't see people going to deals on physical copies and reminding them why they should get digital instead.

      • +6

I’m guessing it’s because you can resell later and recoup some of the money, thus coming out ahead?

        • +6

So, not keeping it forever then. So it's only good for sharing a $30 game that you can maybe sell later for $15, or trade to EB games for $5.

It doesn't explain why it needs to be mentioned on every digital deal.

Just leave us alone with our terrible, completely irreversible decision to buy digital games.

          • +5

@Mukduk: Some people like physical, some digital.

I tend to buy used, physical and then re-sell them later or trade in.

It often means the cost of playing a game for me is like $15 or so, sometimes less even.

          • @Mukduk: You could have left this comment alone. Goes both ways. Just as you said to leave you alone, why not apply the same advice and leave the poster alone. Hypocrisy

            • -7

@Brakus: You could ALSO have left this comment alone. Goes both ways. Just as you said I should leave it alone, why not apply the same advice and leave me alone. Hypocrisy

It's like replying to anything you think didn't need to be said is saying something that doesn't need to be said. Guess it could go on forever, maybe it would be safer if you just quit the internet.

              • +2

@Mukduk: Funny. I never said to leave me alone. I welcome all triggered comments and hypocrites

      • -3

This times a million. Every damn digital deal has to be spammed with the usual crap.

About time mods put an end to it.

        • end to what?

          Freedom of speech?

          • -3

            @SpeedRunnerLink: Trolling.

Thanks for the negs. I love em.

You don't like digital, don't comment here.

            • +3

@scuderiarmani: I never said I didnt like digital

I said you're better off paying $10 more for a physical

Learn to read before you start trolling sugarlips.

              • -3

@SpeedRunnerLink: That's nice. I don't care. Id rather save $10 (BTW you forgot to add postage….) and buy it digitally. 100 times outta 100.

                That's your opinion.

I get 2 copies for my 2 consoles. I get gold coins. I don't have clutter. I don't have risks of my daughter losing the games.

Are you worried about the physical media future? Why do you feel the need to post against digital?

                • +1

@scuderiarmani: There's no rules that state I can't post it. Its the same game in another format and not off topic. If you think its a problem then report it to the admins as it appears to be affecting you mentally quite a fair bit.

And you can get gold coins with physical carts too.

                • +1

@scuderiarmani: For me I appreciate it when someone points out that the physical version is also on sale and isn't much more and lets me know where I can get it.

        • +2

Always good to point out different options. Don’t know why you are so triggered. Just leave the post alone bec others benefit from it. Its not all about you

          • -3

@Brakus: Different options isn't knocking the option at the same time.

            That's just useless baiting.

I keep the digital title forever. The physical cartridge (or cartridge slot) is just as likely to fail over time too. Only need to look at retro games and the issues they face with old cartridges.

            • @scuderiarmani: Both have their own merits but I think others who like physical benefit from the comment. I was about to buy digital and got the idea from the post. I pref physical so its good for me and others who like physical. Shouldn’t ask ppl to shut up bec you think digital is better.

      • Calm down, dude. I for one appreciated the comment, because i did consider the digital, but to see the physical is only $10 more makes it a better choice for myself, and many others.

    • +5

Physical is definitely preferable for games like this for me since i collect games to store/fill up my shelf, my only digital games are mario party, kart, overcooked etc since i never intend to sell them and always play them multiplayer so its neat to have it always available on the go and not weighing me down/hassle of switching cartridges. Please continue to comment about physical games on digital posts and vice versa, both digital and physical have their merits so both are valid in the comments section.

      • Maybe any Switch game deals could have an automatic suffix of something like "You may be better off paying more/less for the digital/physical version of this game so you can keep it forever or sell later/always have it available"

        • +4

I only applied to this one because the physical also was on sale too

Not sure why so many people are getting their panties in knot about it.

    • +3

      I like to get physical

    • +2

I'll tell you why I avoid physical for switch, and I reckon this goes for many families (we have 2 Switches):

      (1) with a card you can usually only play one game at a time; with digital you can play one game on two switches simultaneously (e.g. local coop)

      (2) my kids are 9 and 7 and it's a challenge to ensure the cards are always returned to storage, because they are so small. You lose a card and that's it, you don't own the game any more.

      (3) often enough the cards won't read straight away and you need to do the old "remove and blow" trick to get the card to register

The main advantage of physical for us, long-term ownership predictions notwithstanding, is you can play without internet connection, whereas digitals always check internet first.

      • -1

        That's good.

tell someone that cares as I dont.

My initial post was to show a physical was available that is all which was on sale.

Everyone that wants to get into debate about digital vs physical then continue on as I'm out.

        • -2

          Why are you here then?

Why are you responding to him?

He justified his reasons. Yet you need to respond with a childish attitude.

Don't like it. Don't post here.

You also did not factor in postage costs, and fwiw you are suggesting we support a company who is notorious for their next gen bundles…. Yeah, no thanks.

Also, you aren't out. You are continuing to do it.

        • +1

I don't think so, your initial post opened by literally saying it's better to get a physical version.

    • Thanks for this comment. This is a good idea and would not have thought about it.
      Don't worry. Haters gonna hate

    • +1

Its funny so many people are taking it personally if you don't agree with their preference.

I go for physical if poss. My concern with digitial is long term. If you want to play a certain game in 10-20 years, can you still play it on the same hardware when the online services may not be online anymore? Maybe, maybe not. We dont know right now. (But hopefully yes).

My message to people for preferring digital = one love. Happy gaming all :)

Neggers gonna neg. Potatoes gonna potate. Peace.. 😊

  • I was content with playing it on Game Pass. It's fun, it does some things well…. but ultimately some of the changes they made (some enemy sprites being larger than the Konami counterparts, and different sound effects) just made me pine for the classic games instead (thankfully have them with the Cowabunga Collection). Also wasn't a fan of the animation style (looked more like a flash game) AND when hitting the enemies there was no "oomph" didn't feel like I was connecting. At least with the older games you could feel the oomph and had appropriate sound effects no matter of it was a strong or weak enemy.

The 6 player was ambitious and cool, but with so many on screen doing their special ability all at once the screen was too busy. It was fun, but fun for free I'd be miffed if I paid $50 for it.

    • -1

I much preferred SoR remake over this, likewise I really disliked the animation style. I reckon the 360 version of Turtles in Time would have been a better look.

      • Ironically i'm really not into the art style of the new SoR, too far from its roots. But the game itself is solid.

    • I used to share part of this view. 'theres a new old skool TMNT coming, great! But hang on - it looks different. too different'…
It was a massive turn off at the beginning. But since playing it on Game Pass i think its awesome.
The combat, upgrades, character differences have much more depth for replay value. But yes - the original games were aimed to be coin munchers, then you're on your way. So a direct comparison maybe unfair.
I cant say i noticed the lack of oomph when hitting enemies, if i'm honest.

      • It's more the generic sound effects (swinging of weapons, the connecting to enemies or the environments), compared to the older games anyway.

    • I did pay $50 ($53 to be exact) and I am definitely miffed about it. Looking at the review scores, I expected a great game likes SOR4 instead got around 4 hours out of it and no incentive to replay. It’s actually the only beat-em-up game in my collection that my kids refused to replay after beating the last boss, which sort of says everything about it

This game is great, I'm loving it!
