Surge Protector for Pool Pump

Hi,

Just had to replace my pool pump. Not cheeeap….

I would like to use a surge protector.

The replacement of the pool pump was related to old age :-(

Can I use a normal surge protector plug for the pool pump?

  I’d recommend surge protection get installed at the switchboard if you want long term protection

  How about short term?

  I just want to protect my new pump until I can get a sparkie to come out and installed it at the switchboard.

  I assume an RCD does not protect equipment against sudden spikes

  Assume you want something for outdoor use? If it’s just temporary get one you can plug into an outlet and put it in a plastic container to keep the water out.
